Hmm.
Interesting concept and design. Good music.
However, the atmosphere is ruined by bland and uninteresting textures.
The theme could have been so much more interesting.
Lighting sucked in a lot of places.
No optimizations whatsoever. Really jumpy framerates.

Awesome Static Mesh work(did see a shimmer on some of the same model, but in gameplay you really had to look hard to find it)! Awesome Architecture!! Gameplay falls short though, mainly due to the poor(lack of quantity)lighting mentioned above, but a lot of the areas are quite cramped. Despite that, this map is worth downloading just to see something special.

Improving the lighting will gain at least 1 extra point! :)

If anyone wants to know why Static Meshes make a difference in a map, download this and see for yourself.

Update: Thanks for the lighting! :) +1

Over 80 megs extracted holy he*l. This is the biggest single map file that I have seen. After I loaded it up I totally forgot about the size of the map file though... Absolutely gorgeous Map. One of the best looking cathedral maps that I have seen. A couple of nit picks that I want to point out are some optimization would really help. Lengthening the support beams that extend into the pool of water at the entrance so that they meet the floor would really make a difference. But that is just me. I do like the tight corridors though. It makes for some great hammer frags.
Keep mapping and have a good day.

Just downloaded and played the new version 1.0c...huge improvement.

Frame rates are good and the improved weapon layouts and lighting really has made a BIG difference.
Also the halls now being wider makes play much more fun and challenging.
Bot pathing is spot on, at no time did I notice a bot getting stuck or standing still for very long. As has been mentioned, your static meshes are first class and the level is a treat to look at and now also a treat to play.
Good stuff!

Nice lay-out overall, but only 1 thing;
When you are in one of those small and narrow hallways (which make up for 75% of the map), it is impossible to dodge well, and I keep on dying because of access rockets. Widening those hallways would be a good suggestion, I reckon. Statics and theme wasn't that bad, lighning could use some improvements as well though. But mainly work on the catacombs, cause I'm suffering from claustrophobia here.

And, until next time;
Remember that when you're reaching for the stars...
They're too far away, so it's hopeless

Wish I could create stuff like this!
Only thing left to say:

I LOVE THIS MAP!!!

Would have given you 9, but I rarely give a 9 to any-one...but it was close.

You have done an eyecandy. I really liked your maps visuals. Nice details.
But after throwing in some bots it took quite a lot of time to reach the enemy. And finally finding someone everything is too narrow for a good fight.
You should rescale everything, work on the gameplay.
Visuals: 9
Gameplay: 1

i can see potential here, but the visuals are just SO unpolished! unaligned meshes, overly simple emmiters, crap looking water... overly obvious bsp. and so so many wasted SM tri's that could have been put to much much better use. i feel the auther could have done so much better with his obvious ability.

I played this level the other day and I think it's great. Both the textures and the lighting are very well done and I couldn't see any unaligned textures. You are one talented mapper amoc and have done a great job on this level. Many of the negative things I have read here on your map I feel are unfounded. I would definatly recommend this level...all up EXCELLENT LEVEL!
Can't wait for you to release more great stuff like this.
