| darth_weasel 06-05-2004 05:21 AM MDT | Rating: 7 | | its gameplay feels something like scimitar with all the vertical play, but the lighting is so bland, it knocks a couple points off
| neoduck 06-05-2004 07:36 PM MDT | Rating: 8 | | slick gameplay, sexy visuals.... runs like a dog.
still a great map. i can't wait to get my new PC so i can play this map properly.
| howser 06-15-2004 09:59 PM MDT | Rating: 9 | | Actually felt so strongly about this that I had to register to comment. I'm sure people's problem with this map would be the size. Enough bots to fill it, and it'll run slow. Too few bots, and the map's no fun.
I, myself, am fortunate enough to have a rig that'll run this map maxed-out with 20 or so bots... I'd have to say the layout is nothing short of genius, with the multiple levels of z-axis and the way it twists in and out of itself. Amazing flow.
Also, considering its size the gameplay is unique. No map has truly accomodated such large playercounts since the switch to the new engine.
The reworking of stock meshes is inspired, creating one of the most original, arresting colour schemes I've seen in a long while.
Very, very impressive. Along with Buliwyf, the jewel of the CBP2 for me.
Edit: forgot to give it a score! ;]
| SilverHairDevil 06-15-2004 11:30 PM MDT | Rating: 8 | | Tied with Drakonis as the best CBP2 v.2 DM map. Aqua!
| TheSpoonDog 06-16-2004 02:19 AM MDT | Rating: 8 | | If I had a good computer, this would be my favourite large DM released for UT2003 or UT2004, period. Some people don't realise how much longer it takes and how much harder it is to make a large DM compared to a 1-on-1. Awesomely put together visuals and heaps of Z-axis, cool features in some rooms so you can always tell where you are. If it weren't for the fps on the average computer, it would be a 10 :)
| JamesBrown 06-18-2004 06:28 AM MDT | Rating: 10 | | Awesome map! It might not be the best running, but it's crammed with details, has an unbelievably complicated and awesome layout, loaded with atmospheric sounds and the man's my hero :)
| daewooandyou 06-18-2004 06:33 AM MDT | Rating: 10 | | Impressive :) Really, impressive. It must have taken about 10x (literally) to make this as opposed to a 1on1. It's huge! I wonder what this guy is doing next..
| Fordy 06-18-2004 06:26 PM MDT | Rating: 9 | | Apart from the gameplay and flow, I loved the atmosphere on this map, particularly the sound, the place really does feel like its ready to collapse any second. The red trim also gives it an extra visual kick which sets it apart from other similarly themed maps.
| Mad Irish Mapper 07-05-2004 05:30 AM MDT | Rating: 7.5 | | Input from those at prounreal shows with regards to the flow of this map. Unfortunately, the FPS just takes too much of a hammering in certain areas.
Still a very very good map.
| mrgroovy 03-08-2006 11:54 AM MST | Rating: 9 | | Soooo nice! I wonder how long it took to complete this map, its so complex, Z-axis rockz, and there is so much love and time spended in this map, you really see that.
Also i wonder where the author had started, (first substract)I dont see cubes or cylinders in the rooms, verry good.
The atmosphere is one of the best, sounds every were, broken windows, jellyfishes outside =) everything looks just so smooth and sweet. And the music helps the theme in some weird way.
Verry good job i love this map.
| CyMek 03-08-2006 05:52 PM MST | Rating: 9 | | I love this map! It looks great, and is a lot of fun to play. Unfortunately, the map is not popular online due to frame rate issues, and you need at least 12 to have fun in my experience, and I don't often find DM with that many players.
Still, one of the better maps I have played for UT2004. It's a pity that I can never find any servers that run this...
| goldfenix 03-09-2006 12:23 AM MST | Rating: 8 | | This map along with some other deep sea maps like Deep Sea, Aquatica, and the ut2k3 map Oceanic, have all inspired me to make a deep sea map. This map is very well designed, although the note pads you placed in the map are quite disturbing. I understand your philosophy, if you cant swear directily on line, then use a notepad actor. Liked all the custom stuff. Didn't like some texturing, like lack of custom cubemaps and no meshes. You do have jellyfish, bu those are static. It would be neat if they had animation, hence them being a mesh.
Uhhh Edit: When you exported your terrain, or anything that used vertex colors, did you use ActorX to export it or the UnrealEd Exporter that is included with Ut2004? If you used UnrealEd Exporter can you tell me how you successfully exported them so they actually blend?
