| mordameus 05-29-2004 03:32 PM MDT | Rating: 7 | | Nice - I've been wanting to make a HyperCube-style map for a while, but due to time constraints really havn't. It's a half-decent small map. Personally, I woulda preferred the unlimited rooms - possibly something to think about in an update? Not really much for details, etc. However the movie HyperCube didnt have a lotta details, either ;)
| Leathal 05-29-2004 09:45 PM MDT | | the 1st one I made actually had 27 rooms, I only tested it with 1 other person and it was terribly hard to find and kill each other.. still working on fine tuning it to be more playable :) this one is just a forerunner for the concept and for further development.
| sandorski 05-29-2004 10:21 PM MDT | Rating: 2 | | I don't get it I suppose. No fun IMO, just a bunch of cubes(not surprising since that's what it's supposed to be) with different Zoning in each, each is accessible through the center point on the Floor(maybe the ceiling too, didn't test). Some might like it, I don't.
edit: Just wanted to add, I think it's an interesting concept, just not a very workable one for DM or other Multiplay. Might work as a Mod, such as a puzzle to escape ala the movie The Cube.
| hunter 05-30-2004 12:34 AM MDT | Rating: 1 | | oh man, im sorry, this map is terrible
each of the eight cubes (each cube is decorated with 12 whole polys each) look exactly the same. you can get from cube to cube by running in to walls looking for the invisible door, or by falling though the middle of one. while they look all exactly the same, each one has a different little "perk". one is a watervolume, one is a damagevolume, one is a bNeutralZone True volume. it all adds up to a horrible looking map that plays equally bad.
looks 0 + gameplay 2 = 1
the only thing thats cool is the concept, but it isnt even applied decently here.
| slaskan 05-30-2004 04:31 AM MDT | Rating: 0 | | is this a joke
| Slainchild 05-30-2004 10:15 AM MDT | | Would someone please explain the concept of the "movie" this "map" is supposed to be based from. I just don't get it.
| Jez 09-26-2005 07:42 PM MDT | | Just look up the film (and the three sequels) up on imdb.com
| goldfenix 09-26-2005 11:59 PM MDT | Rating: 0.5 | | Not good not good not good! Ahh! The rooms in the film were way more detailed than this! And better done
| GTD-Carthage 09-27-2005 07:51 AM MDT | | That movie cracked my brain open... it would have been a little more authentic if the user used warpzones to link the cubes back to another to do that seamless transforming endless thing effect.
