Lets start off by saying this is a face clone, not a bad one at all. i happen to like the face maps. The bases are designed very well. the textures are good but I can't buy into the world he tried to create. there is a invisible roof extension on the red side that allows you to walk onto with out falling. The skybox is good but has no stars. and the team lighting that flickers bothered me alot. Way too bright. overall I give it a 7. Good job, just need a little tweaking to make it a great map.

first off, good effort on this one Cobra. You took a lot of chances and experimented more than usual with this map, which is all good cause you're already starting to get noticably better... since this is a fantasy theme, some will like it and some will probably hate it but it is much more interesting and not too bizarre - gameplay is kinda tough because it's so open, but i like to snipe a lot but i didn't seem to get killed much when doing so - the construction of the map could be a lot better (remember the grid is very important, especially for getting brushes to line up and reduce some nodes) but the map still works fine on my system, except for the FR drop when up on the higher areas -- good effort (don't be in such a hurry to release all the time, if u take a bit more time on each new map they will be much better made) cheers
**edit** if u want to just send me a copy of the new version before u release Cobra, and i will help playTest it for u -- cheers :)

*EDIT* *EDIT* nope, there's a problem but it's NOT a missing package, at least from the logs, etc. map loads fine when run by double clicking in winexplorer, aso runs fine when run in UED2, but fails when run from UT's menu interface... i've never seen this
before.... took a quick look around in the ed -- much better job cobra :) will give a new rating when this problem is fixed... for the version theory: i use GOTY patched to 436 on this machine... IB, u there? any thoughts on this ??

Another version is coming on NC V1.1. But the 2 bases are alike, whit some changes, the brush are much better place. I took more time on it. Thanks for the comment's. A special thanks to Ironblade for all is comments, and advice.

EDIT: Thanks alot Rob, I have email you.

Manticore: There's supose to have all the files in it. They only texture that you need in the zip, is cruisade, that's all. Sorry if it is not working for you. I prefere a lot V1.1 over the first one CTF-Snipers. 2 bad cause a really like your comment's Manticore. And there is a mistake here. The comment's above are for CTF-Snipers. But this version is CTF-Snipers1.1. It is not the same map. I don't understand? it show's in the latest addition as CTF-Snipers, and all files (zip file to) are CTF-Snipers1.1?.

EDIT:mmm, I don't no what is wrong. Cause it is the same version as CTF-Snipers, but I have change one base put some new brush's in the lower routes, some new deco. I did not touch anything like in my level info or something yes it is strange?.

EDIT: Thanks alot FraGnBraG, but that problem???? I really don't no what cause that?.

EDIT: Thanks alot Ironblayde. I will do as you said. And yes it is the period that do that. I will upload whit no period next time.

Thanks to FraGnBrag and Ironblayde. I'll come back when the problem is fixed. Keeping an eye open to see when it's re-submitted.

It's actually very simple. UT doesn't seem to like maps that have a period as part of their base filenames. It probably interprets the first instance of a period in the filename as the end of the basename and the beginning of the "unr" extension. You can see that this is the case if you examine the game log; it reports missing files from package "Snipers1" when the actual map name is "Snipers1.1" instead. Rename the file to something like "CTF-Snipers11.unr" and the problem is solved.

To the author: Please re-upload the map with the naming issue addressed. A few other points:

-- I found that UnrealEd crashed when I looked at the MyLevel package in the texture browser and clicked the "All" button. This may be because there are some textures not in use. Type TEXTURE CULL into the UnrealEd console, then save the map with a different filename. This seemed to fix the problem for me.

-- The texture pack you've included is almost 6MB in size, but you only use one texture from it. Please just include that texture in MyLevel and you won't need to include the pack, thus drastically reducing your map's download size.

-- Finally, consider making the lights that illuminate the base exteriors much less saturated before re-uploading the map. Saturation values of 0 almost always look terrible (unless used for those small red lights or something similar), particularly when it's outdoors. In a map such as this, ornamentation with team symbols should probably be enough to distinguish one base exterior from the other at a glance. If you must underscore the difference with team-colored lighting, the effect should be very subtle. This would take very little time to do and would improve the look of the map significantly.
