CTF-CTCR-Bedrooms2K4 | | Map Info |
| | File Name | ctf-ctcr-bedrooms2k4.zip | Author | BodenMaddox | Gametype | UT2k4 Capture The Flag | Date Added | 05-04-2004 | File Version | 1.00 | File Size | 1.25 mb | Player Count | 8-24 | Map Description | This map is the third generation of a CTCR clan favorite. The original map, CTF-Bedrooms][ was for Unreal Tournament ('99) and was created by Kid Ying. CTCR (Clowns That Carry Redeemers) fell in love with Bedrooms, especially on our Matrix Moves server. We soon migrated to the "bug fixed" version, CTF-Bedrooms][b.
I took it upon myself to port the favorite to UT2003, but I must admit that port was not very good, as the scale was just off. With this new UT2004 re-make, I hope to pay homage to Kid Ying's classic, but try a new approach for the new UT. I hope you like it. | Review Rating | -- | User Rating | 4.5 | Overall Rating | -- |

| sandorski 05-05-2004 07:03 AM MDT | Rating: 5 | | It's cute, but bare.
| [WoD]Mephisto 05-05-2004 08:21 AM MDT | Rating: 4 | | UT-classic version was better. whats with all these tiling textures and the lack of detail? the UT1 version had so much more detail that this one just looks crappy. even the mouse-holes were left out. and the outside area is way too dark.
| BodenMaddox 05-05-2004 09:04 PM MDT | | Sorry you didn't like it, Mephisto. I created it for play, not for looks. I just played it on-line last night with about 14 folks and they all loved it. It's a fun map to play, and that's what really matters to me for this map. Some maps I do for looks, some for fun, and some for both. This one's a fun, basic map. :-) Thanks for you feedback, however.

The detail meph is talking about is probably the fact that the objects in the original map were not just for looks, but also for play. I took the small mousehole route a lot, cuz i liked sneaking around there. those boxes in the hallway where not only because it would look too plain and substracted-box-like without them, but also to give you some cover. It's a nice start, but needs some more work. I would really like to see a better version of this map though (CTF-CTCR-Bedrooms2k4][?).
btw. that ctcr logo is very funny ;)

| [Tenza]Antitenant 05-06-2004 08:35 PM MDT | | I havent played it yet, so i wont rate it...yet, but I remember all the...how to put it...interesting moments my friends and i had in Bedrooms back in UT, so if its anything like that i'm lookin foward to it.
| FragEm 05-08-2004 06:22 AM MDT | Rating: 6 | | I thought it would be some time until I saw another of these! What a classic...
| DarkOrphan 11-01-2004 08:11 PM MST | | perhaps you could take the time to use the unrealed 3.0 at it's full potential and re-define what CTF-Bedrooms is... ut99 had a lot of detail in it... this ut2k4 version doesn't live up to the name....
