Great!
But it doesn't looks like Hydro very much, and that's a shame because that was a terrific map.

7.9/10

nice map, but some places are a bit bad for my fps :S
i like the original look to this map, despite the fact that its an attempt on a remake. there's loads of new places to go and the only place i could still recognise the original was outside at the bridges.
despite the nice looks, the gameplay could use some polishing. some places, like the flag spots, were just too dark to spot the enemy. i got killed a lot not knowing where the hell the bots came from. there were also too much places to fall in. some areas to be cautious are nice to keep you alert, but everywhere makes even your own base a hazardous place.
its not a top-class map, but its well worth the download :)

This didn't impress me at all. I found it kinda 'boring'. Don't know why. Only the central part is similar to hydro, though... 6.0

This isnt really a remake of Hydro, this is just my opinion but lets think of it like this, CTF-December was like the rebirth of CTF-November it had some of the same layout, mainly the middle area, but the bases themsevles were completely different, so this new hydro is the rebirth of the old hydro, i am very impressed with this map, one of my favorites now, the middle area made me feel right at home, and i liked it, it was different, but the same, the only thing i didnt like at first was how confusing the inside bases were, but after 10 minutes this wasnt a problem, i get good frame rates on this map, and its very pretty, a worthy successor to the old hydro, good work man.

I would just like to add a few more comments, Fester dont worry about these guys who gave you a bad score, this is an awesome map! and that one area that you get to by taking the bases right path is fine to, but if you are going to change this, maybe add a small bridge linking one walkway with the other, this is just my suggestion, but either way this map is great, but the elevators dont make any sounds when you use them, this isnt a big deal, i just wanted to bring it to your attention.

Thanks for all of the comments! This is my first map released publicly, so any and all comments welcome! Xanadu hit it on the head as to what I was going for, a modern tribute to Hydro, not an exact remake. Good point on the lighting; I'll probably post an updated version with that fixed. As for the hazards, I wanted the players to be a little more careful and the environment a little more interactive, but I understand the impact on gameflow. It was a conscience decision on my part.
Toothpick-Thanks! and I understand (it was a terrific map!)
sandorski-Thanks!
Mephisto-Thanks for the tips!
D-7-Thanks for the comment anyway...maybe you'll like my next map :)
Xanadu-Thanks for the comments and the score!

To all the comments below: Thanks for trying out the map and the honest comments! It's the only way to improve! I tried to optimize as best I could, but the slowdowns are probably related to the feeling of too many smeshes. When UT2k3 came out this is the first map I used smeshes with, and I'm still trying to find a good balance. I'll work on it on the next one (and I won't make the mistake of using a clasic map for inspiration for one of my first maps again :)

If this is a rebirth than it must've died again cuz this is soo ...no.... A lot I don't like about this map and would rather just see a HydroClassic from Epic or Teddie.

A downgraded version of Hydro. The original was much better than this. Not only that the frames saffer in even the simple araes. Needs much revision.

Shows some nice mapping skills, but you should have kept closer to the original. For me its a bit chaotic

Great mapping skills and interesting CTF. The interior pathways to the flag rooms seem a bit cramped with all that static meshing. It's ok....

The original hydro 16 map was a great map for sniping.
this map may be diferent than the original, but, like the old hydro, it has great gameplay. The biggest reason i love this map is because this is the map i got my first "Godlike" title.:) (again, thanks to beautiful sniping towers)

beautiful, large, and expands on a classic map's theme and realism. Top tier workhere.
