Love the theme, strong industrial approach with cool blue/white lights, layout is nice too.

Detailed Static Meshes enhance things a fair bit, with the odd smoke emmiter here and there. Trouble is, the map relies heavily on narrow corridors, with little variation, and in such situations static meshes can become a big pain the bum.
Theres a fair bit of Z - Axis here, but nothing too clever. Symmetry is also a bad thing, as there are barely any significant structures to orientate yourself in just the one half... The map - like many others - feels like it's been called a 1 on 1 map simply because of it's size - a decent 1 on 1 map isn't just about being small: a good 1 on 1 map is structured in a certain way, often having you running between focal points (amp and shield), rather than simply forcing you to run around looking for other people... or at least, thats my opinion (and i'm no 1 on 1 master... or even a decent mapper!)
You could do worse than downloading this map of course, but it's hardly going to break into a list of good maps...
| D-7 04-24-2004 04:31 PM MDT | Rating: 6 | | So much custom stuff and so dull result... Too tight, SMs block the way in the narrow corridors. It could be turned good, with a better -more open- layout and a bit more variety in textures, colors and lights.
DaZ: did you even play the map?!? There are no blues in it, those are red, it's just the common inverse color error of NC's screenshots.
| sandorski 04-24-2004 05:16 PM MDT | Rating: 5 | | Ya, it's ok, but it didn't have any kind of Wow factor and getting held up in the halls was irritating.
