Map DescriptionTo know fear is to feel death constantly bearing down upon you, and closing in arround you.

This is my first map, but I am told it does not show. The beta testers all reported good bot play and item placement. The bots seem to use all 5 of the weapons in this small map. In bot matches there was an acceptable challenge for most players on even the lower levels, as the bots do not need to preform any dodge jumps or translocations to navigate the map.

The flow is vey circular on foot, but is broken up by jump pads and teleporters.

The sound and music are... ok, just meh.

*Note* Due to zealous use of particles and innefficient use of antiportals some testers experienced dips in fps and marginal lag online.


Also, if I anyone wants to complain about another outdoor map, and how we might as well just go play antalus: well then, Go fornicate yourself on a cactus.

It's my first map, nothing that great, but it's fun.


July 16, I'd really appreciate some feed back... those 0s are tearing at the back of my mind.... I think the map is at least a 4(yes, below average, but not terrible) so I'm a touch disturbed by two 0s without any details as to why.


Redfist, I gave your remake the higest score it's gottenr from a user thusfar. I guess In all fareness it was a fine remake that was just textured in an unappealing manner...


Manticore, your comments were quite precise. I guess I got tired of the map at some point during construction and lazily rushed through certain aspects. The origional plan called for caves. The lighting was a bit uninteresting, but I've learned what not to do. I did spend some time making the terrain verry smooth and natural feeling, as I hate jagged mossy areas and rock spires the many up and coming mappers fall victim to. This map actually ended production quite a long time before it's release, and looking at it now it seems very half baked in places and the flow feels like spinning drunken madness in the worst way. Next time I shall release a map that runs at higher frame rates.

Good effort...ok graphics, and I like the teleporter which showed you what was going on over the other side of the map :)
Gameplay was different but not to my taste and the frames per second were pretty low.

you shouldnt upload stuff until you learn a little more
And i am not being snidly it is ONE map he's done and if all he can say about atrodeck is "crap o rama" well.....
I'm not flameing here ,it is the truth,this whole level is a non level, plane and simple.
I cant be any nicer than that.

The gameplay pathing for this map re: layout doesn't have the potential to hold interest for long term keepage. Basically the player is a bit like a lab rat in Skinner's wheel; you just go around and around in a very small area. In my opinion understanding layouts has nothing to do with whether it is a first effort or not. Layouts should be studied and understood by anyone who intends to plan a map....

The map is as laggy as hell and probably should have been rebuilt for UT2K4 because, as with other autoconversions, there are skybox problems. Adding this:

"*Note* Due to zealous use of particles and innefficient use of antiportals some testers experienced dips in fps and marginal lag online"

....doesn't excuse anyone from not constructing a map properly. If your are reticent about performance fix it or don't release it.

Although the terrain is good to look at the lighting, overall, doesn't bring out the best visual qualities of the map.

There is no screenshot or description provided in the in-game menu which shouldn't happpen and under utilises the game front-end for end users' convenience.

Below average and needs a ton of optimisation for UT2K4 play. Oh, that's right; IN MY OPINION.
