I'm not trying to say something like don't make a map, but don't rush to submit something , when ther's more can be added. I made about 5 maps that were fun to play, but I didn't like them , so I never uploaded them.
(the first screenshot might give a wrong impression { like to me}) make screens, that reflect the major effort, and the most interesting place to be in.

- about not looking, there are many people who never look even when there is a good screeshot and good map.
right, they post your pcx levelshot from myLevel folder.(sometimes colors are negated- I had that problem)
Will take a look and come back for more feedback.:
hey nIX, we are not trying to flame you, but you should understand, that people need time to take a look at the level, time to judge it. When you put all, there is more chance of getting flamed+ not getting comented at all, or making your map go quick through the list and go into shufle.

Just went through your map.
Not bad for a first time. A little dark though, but cmon not a big deal. the multi step lift is nice, and the canon too9could make an explosion effect.
What was ennoying is the floor texturing, and the empty hallways. You can add some extra light in halls and add lamps or so. The atol shore looks nice, but you could make it look nicer by using few palm trees, and boulders. The weapons are placed in a natural way(not spinning and floating in air like in UT 2003 where I couldn't change it!!GRR , so it looks good.)
In general you need more EYE CANDY (you know the song -" I wana candy.." )You can make a better atol with vertex editing and terrain brush.(i'm suggesting, I don't say like"you have to do it or there is no way out!" nope. keep it going!

___-->PS: I found a way, how to make this UT make look like UT 2003 and still play well! If you are familiar with a meshmaker, you are the boss!! Static meshes are the same thing as the deco meshes in this UT{except for light rendering and collision hulls}
I might do conversion of DM-Antalantus from UT 2003 to UT ! Welcome to use that technique!!

Sicko Teddy, i didn't rush to release this map... i just made one that was fun to play and looked good enough. but the reason i uploaded it was because it wasn't the redundant "abandoned factory" or "lava castle" map. what would you suggest i add? what do you think i'm missing? i had a damn flying surfboard, what do you want from me!?

I did download an play this map. Well, I don't really know where to start. Is this your first map? I found it kind of random, but the lifts were pretty cool. It was also fun to get shot out of the ship's cannon. The textures inside the base were very bland and confused me. It was also a bit cramped. I did think the central core idea was kinda neat.

All in all, this map does have a lot of room for improvement, but does use some innovative things. If this is your first map, then it's not a bad first map. Try to make the map less confusing, if that doesn't confuse you at all... ;)

hmm..well being a first map n all its got all the expected, texture misalignments..etc simple rooms boring corridoors, the map did however have a nice idea behind it but was executed poorly(can be let off because it is a first map)

i think you should work on it some more, take more time to align textures..it only takes 2 clicks of the mouse

the celings were like flat light textures repeated across the entire corridoor, try to create individual light fictures

the meteor in the crater..i assumed it was hot because it had a lava texture and the damage amp was placed on top, so i thought..if i jumped on it i would get lots of damage and probably die but..i didnt, place a damage trigger there :)

the big keg o health was nicely placed, must say that was kinda intresting

overall..typical first map with some nice ideas but executed poorly....gameplay doesnt come into my books, i was in tourist mode :P

just work on it some more :)
