| Sir Xavius 01-09-2006 03:36 PM MST | Rating: 5.5 | | Big rooms, big outside, sniper areas, strange artifacts, and interesting design makes for a great map. Except that bots either camp too much, or don't know how to get around anywhere they want. It therefore tends to play like an ambush game when you go Single-Player, which some palyers might actually like.
A good map has an implied story based on its design and architecture, but i can't seem to discover it here. There is a strange globe on a stand in one of the lower chambers, but it doesn't seem to "do" anything or even lend itself to a plot. Exploring is a great map accentuator, but once you've played one round on this map, you've prob'ly found everything interesting.
The outer areas though are rife with sniper wells and plenty of play space, and there's really no place to hide, especially if you don't know where those headshots are coming from. The water didn't seem dangerous, but maybe it should be, to give the map some character.
I don't know, it's missing something. It's almost there, but there's just no soul to this map. The fighting can get messy, so i hafta keep this map. If you play SP like me, keep your bots between 8 and 16.
