| Sicko Teddy 02-06-2004 11:02 PM MST | Rating: 7 | | Same here: "This is a map for terrain lovers(like me). The atmospheare matches well with the level's theme. Let's get to business: When i was playing, the FPS was kind of so so. One of the biggest problems is that you are using a terrain with way too many triangles. In order to improve it, 1{--you should go to terrain properties and increase the sector size(do it before you make elevations or holes.)Be carefull, you might crash if you don't do it right. 2[-- you can also improve the framerate by removing the terrain sectors that are never viewed(on the back of the terrain-next to backdrop walls.) if you don't know how, go to terrain editor, and go to visibility mode.Hold down Ctrl, and use the L/R buttons of the mouse to hide/reveal sectors.(if you don't know, don't get me wrong) 3[--disable collision of all trees and use the Block Volumes for tree trunks.(it is weard how players and meat chunks bounce off the branches like against rocks!!.) 4[-- Warning, you have some grass meshes that still have a player block collision set "TRUE". 5[---- make antiportals inside hills in the battle area(use cone shape or cube). 6[--- scale up terrain textures, it might help(and looks better) I give you 7 because your work looks promising+ you comented on my work so it's a must for me to pay respect to your creation." Try to add fog and rain! And make a king hill a better place.
