Because I play Unreal Tournament with teamspeak I don't have the music enabled, when I enter a map the first thing I usually hear is my spawning, followed by a big silence. Not here. Wind, water, computers, air vents, ... everything makes sound. I LIKE IT! It's said in the readme, if you have an alert enemy, he will always know where you are. Textures are manly based on the richrig.utx package. Used a lot and many mappers have seen too much of it. Not me. It's combined with the usual texture packages like mine.utx or rainfx.utx, but it gives this map this extra touch. The lighting is perfect in my opinion. Dark and heavy, but not exaggerated, combined with sort of bright open spaces. The architecture is really thought over. It fits perfect with this type of industrial theme. No flat surfaces, broken up enough so you don’t get the idea of this being another boring fast made map.
I said it before, this map is done. Brushes are placed nice. The areas with an open sky have a little bit terrain editing, so you get the idea the mapper has really put some time in it. Lifts didn’t give the bots any trouble, don’t move to fast or to slow in my opinion, and there is an overall good size of he brushes. Often you see to small pillars to support a heavy floor. Not here. The map is good divided into different rooms without having the room corridor room syndrome, and there are multiple ways to get around the map. Sounds are beautiful, only maybe there should have been more diversity in them. Sky with wind sounds is predictable. Try to use a bird mixed in them, a space ship that you hear flying far away. Things like that.
You have three types of mappers. The first only gives a damn about the gameplay. They don’t look to the architecture of a map, it only matters if the map could be played on 1000 servers worldwide. The second group make FPS sloping maps and add as much detail into their maps as they could. The third group is a mix of both. Enough detail, combined with an excellent gameplay. This is a map that belongs in this third category. Bots and humans can play great in this map. It isn’t to big or to small. Not only the sound adds to the beauty of the map, also he weapons and items. Water and health vials are placed in strategic points, so you can hear your enemy if he is entering your base. The weapons are placed nicely symmetrical compared to the other base. You will almost always be able to fight your opponent with equal weapons.
Conclusion: This definitely is a map that I will put on my server and keep locally. |

| XepptizZ 10-24-2003 09:01 PM MDT | Rating: 7 | | It's a small map considering it's a CTF. It has a hellotta Deco and detail, meaning things like bobbed wire or a NO SMOKING sign and GREAT ambient sounds etc, and the flags have mutiple accessable routes due to the elevator. To the right of the bases there's some water nicely done with a mirrored TXTure below the water TXTure, but it's a true frameratekiller so thats more of a mibus than a plus. Nice skyzone, with the birds and stuff. Overall the level seems to be a base on a strange planet in the mountains. Not my favourite theme. The file's larger than it's worth yet Eye-candy luvers should downlaod it.

Minor gripes: - reflective water - it's a semi-huge (and often busy) spot.. it'd be better if it weren't reflective.. talk about a huge FPS drag. - merely translocating up into the sky kills me.. this is drag on gameplay. i'd prefer ICH, as it's noob friendly and i'm a noob :)
| darkjaxx 11-03-2003 11:18 AM MST | Rating: 7 | | Ha, my first minute that i ran trough level: wow, that sniper at his side is very cool... The lifts are short of ok, spotlights are cool (red alert)I looked of the flag and saw that was a problem, Okay that's me for found it, but he was placed a bit abnormal i think. At some places the texture are repeating themshelves, that makes me really nervous(At roof of the main-arena) Ther are some places where I go, and I shoot the rotors of the wall! THAT'S COOL! That place with all electric things are really tidy and proper done. The architecture are good, not challenging but good for a well g-play. The lightning on ctf-Osmosis are ok. THe level is not to brigth and not to dark, that makes a level ok. Gameplay are best here, I captured the flag, I ran to my base, And d*mn I were knocked down by a bot, that are a shame for me, so i think i am noob (you are not the only avatar) Sound are one of the best things, U can play this map for hours and you gett'nt headache, that's great hum? Now you have read my txt, You download it and play, So than it's your turn to comment this map on I think an 7.5 are more justice
(My english are really bad, so sorry about that)
| Juno 11-06-2003 02:42 PM MST | Rating: 7 | | Little flaws, but the FPS realy sux on my PIII400,GeForce 4 MX, and 384MB speed...Also about UnrealEd...What does those light brown brushes, mean? I noticed that it has polycount, and that it most of the time is beeing used as a pillar or a deco(semisolid pillar), but what's the difference between these two brushes, the added one and the special one?
| buju_pers0nified 11-06-2003 03:15 PM MST | Rating: 8 | | I'm very skeptical about maps with no music because that what gets me into the game. This map show that ambiant sounds, when used in the right way is a force to be reckoned with. I hope to see more maps like this.
This map is very beautiful with detail in almost every nook and crannie. I love the gameplay. Bots respond very well in any and every order that I gave them.

| TheAchilles 11-11-2003 02:35 PM MST | Rating: 8 | | Very well designed map! There are multiple paths to reach the other base, which is very important in my opinion. The architecture is great, same with lightning. Darth_weasel added lots of ambient sounds, which create a good atmosphere. Though the file is quite large it is definetly worth the download.

| AMmayhem 01-06-2004 11:15 AM MST | Rating: 8 | | Bah, I didn't have any problems with the water effects, and my computer is slowly becoming a low-end one. :-) Anyways, awesome map, great architecture and atmosphere. Gameplay makes for a good hard fought victory.
| Homeslice 01-06-2004 12:15 PM MST | Rating: 8 | | Great map, it shows that the old UT has still got it going on. Oh yeah, and it proves you're a l33t mapper, Darth. For more comments, read my Insite review of this map.
