| The Purple Bunny 10-15-2003 05:40 AM MDT | Rating: 4 | | Interesting and unique for it's design, but with the common space arena and Foregone Destruction track. The green crystal thing is ok, but the rest of the skybox is too blurry with the stars.
This map as enough Z-Axis to allow some hi-lo battles, just watch yourself or you're taking that Z-axis to a hard hitting floor below, which your only chance of surviving is a shield belt. The dangers of that drop are evident in the 2 large holes near the top, with a shield belt between them. With a shock rifle nearby, sniping someone attempting to go for it is a plus if you can pull it off. My only major issue is the depth of the map, which several seconds pass by before hitting the bottom of the map if you fall out of the arena.
Weapon placement - Just too many rockets. Especially on the platform with the holes there's 4 of them. A bit more diversity with weapons here would be a good idea. Especially since everyone can get a rocket launcher and blast everyone out of the arena from the thin platforms, it accounts to the match taking greatly longer to finish since a lot of deaths can be attributed to falling out of the arena and not to a person's weapon. One of the Kegs-O-Health lies on a beam where I saw no way to get down without losing almost all that 100 HP. Near the bottom are 2 armor on one walkway, which is unneccessary since grabbing both helps in no way other than the regular 100 armor. The better weapon placement is the Ripper, which is right near narrow corridors to get some blades flying. Finally, there's a redeemer here, but I never found out how to get it.
You're gonna need to either set a lot of bots, or a really low frag limit to get past this one. Because the arena's platforms and walkways are mostly narrow, weapons like the rocket launcher have a tendency to knock an opponent out of the arena instead of killing them, resulting in you not getting a point. Because of this, it took me 45 minutes to get 30 kills against a group of 4 bots.
Overall, unique, but a clearer skybox and more diverse weapon placement would make this a better map (along with a different music track).
