Cerulean 09-24-2003 01:12 PM MDT Rating: 8   Fun map. The incredible visual effects show how the map got it's name. The framerates could be better, but that could be because I run my system (P4 3 Ghz/Radeon 9700 Pro) on Very high settings. chankie 09-27-2003 11:38 AM MDT Rating: 4   I had really mixed feelings about this map and another map by the same author. The visual effects are impressive, but they seem gratuitous and gaudy to me and distract from gameplay. I would have preferred to see a map with more custom mesh work, fewer effects, and much more optimization. The framerates are poor; this in itself might not be so bad, but the poor framerates are incurred for what I felt were unnecessary visuals. Even if I was running the map on a system with infinite resources, I would probably still feel like there was "too much" in terms of effects. It's just too much. In other aspects, however, the layout of the map is fair to good. It's not the most enjoyable DOM layout, but not the worst either. Overall, I felt as if the visuals were unecessary and detracted from what might have other been a fair map in terms of gameplay.
