Well, this map is a bit older, it is hold in Gothic style and has some industrial stuff in it.

| omnipolex 09-02-2003 11:10 PM MDT | Rating: 6 | | -Ajanta is rather plain, but it seems to be well thought out. Pathways are laid out nicely, and the map runs smooth. However, texturing and the overall feel of the map did nothing for me. It was easy at first to get lost due to the symmetry of some rooms. I will give a few extra points on the rating for the added background brushes you took time to work on. The graveyard was a nice touch, along with the borken fence. I think you spent some quality time on this map and I hope to see more from you.

The mix between the modern and the old is a plus for me, maybe just because it's done so seamlessly here. My problem is the items/gameplay. The rocket, shock, and armor are very near to each other, and the ammo is right there with the weapon. Health placement is much better in this one, except all but one of the medpacks are in the rocket/shock/armor area. And although I realize this just comes down to opinions, I didn't like the tightness of the map. Magma was tight but not divided into rooms. The room divisions on this map make for some pretty small, and consequently not as much fun, fighting arenas. Good luck on whatever you're cooking up next!

Then, adding to the quite colorful lighting, the ambient sounds are coming across a bit sudden and--contrary to the otherwise successful, atmospheric mixture of old and new--aren't blending too well with each other. The music's great, though.
