You wrote in your Map Description: Do you feel the need to be in control? My question to you is: Do you feel the need to make more maps?..I hope not!

Apparently, you can't give too many 10's around here. You get a 9 for effort. lol

And I give it a 0 to un-lay-up the score, because I played it and it's not very good.

To the author...
First off ingnore everyone here that doesn't have a few maps behind their belts and who are not leaving you comments that will actually help you. This is a very harsh enviroment you decided to submit your map in - you might want to try Unreal Playground, Insite, or Map Raider if folks are getting to you here.
Secondly this is a pretty solid first new engine map. But you gotta break things up more - read Hournce's architecture tutorial: http://www.planetunreal.com/phalanx/tut's/tutorial_geo.htm
When I tried your map I found it was EXACTLY like the csreenshots. Which is good because you're being honest, and bad because they don't show a good map. That is unfortunatly what we have here. Sure it may be fun, but it needs some flavoring. It's big, bland, and empty ATM. I did like a few things... I thought the center area showed some promise, and it's nice to see a n00b map that actually has good texturing. Nothing is over or under tiled, and texture patterns aren't cut off in disturbing ways.
I wouldn't recommend doing a part 2 here. Instead I'd recommend you start fresh with your own ideas. Add more archiecture to your next map, add trim to the edges of walkways and water pools - wherever applicable, and add a wider variety of light types. You might want to open up the level a bit with a window or through the ceiling. Use ONE sunlight actor for the sunlight, use a SMALL (no more than 30 brightness) amount of zone lighting that is the same color light as the sun - for realism. Don't just make a level full of static meshes - make sure every mesh has a place and serves some sort of purpose. In UT terms, you don't want to make a level with 100s of crates and barrels just for the heck of it. You want to avoid this kind of thing in UT 2004 - or any game for that matter.
Don't be afraid to send an e-mail to someone if you need help, or to post in the forums. You'll find me active over at Unreal Playground for the most part, so you can e-mail me or post over there if you want my assitance and I'll help you out. Now start up a new map! - Deathbliss
