In short: A map that looks cool and COULD be a lot of fun, with an interesting layout. However the map suffers from absoultely poor construction resulting in performance that will cripple even the best of video cards.
____________

I dont normally take points off for performance, but the construction of this map is so weak that viewing from one end to thet other gives me on my 128MB GeForce4 Ti4200 a framerate that I can count on one hand, literally: 4 FPS. (see shot.)

I saw a nice slideshow of bots playing the map reasonably well. I would have liked to see some custom meshes or at least more variety in them, everything on this map is pulled straght from CTF-Magma. But, it does have an interesting look to it for a lava map. there is 1 appearance glitch, a doubledamage spawner is attached to the side of a pillar, but the doubledamage seems to be misoriented and not spawning in the right place. It would be better to just keep it on level ground.

This map needs antiportals badly, but even they will only help so much with how open this map is. place them just under the floors and in the castle walls to maximize the number of polys that are hidden. Even I could probably only push this map up enough to get maybe 15 FPS tops in that screenshot.

It's really a shame. It's clear some work went into this map, but it is just tottally unplayable. a map that requires a GeForce FX 256MB card to play decently isnt going to get a lot of players or server time. Keep working, and learn to optimize your maps, and they will be fun to play on.

Not a bad map. Fairly compact and easy to navigate. Looks good too.

FPS dropped to 28 in some areas with my Ti4200 64Mb P4 2.66, but was mostly around 50-60. Lesser machines are going to croak on this one.

Edit: All detail set to normal, resolution 1024x768.

what are your detail settings set to all low or something? i only get that kind of fps standing in my base looking away from the map.

-edit- your CPU must be helping out :) as stated in the review i have a 128MB ti4200.

thx for review , i work on a v2.0 of this map , based on High Details system . On Normal details , you can't see fluidsurfacesinfos , the lava flames , the lava fall . I change the skybox also , and now : 13-17 fps . Athlon XP 1600+ , 256MRam , GeForce2 . I uptade this post when the v2 is out . thx for comments.
---v2.0 out , it's really better than the first version . Optimisation power ^^
After reviews that's said the FPS is very low , now it's ok . It's based on DisplayIfHighDetails system .
The normal details don't show the "stonehendge" architecture , and lava flames , and fluidsurfacesinfo . In High Details system , show the screenshot .
