| Fuzzy Logic 08-11-2003 10:42 AM MDT | Rating: 0 | | Nice looking map with good textures. The layout is a bit ordinary with three circular floors and alternate lifts. But gameplay lets the map down badly. This map has the the worst bots I've come across. All they do is pace up and down, or even crouch, just begging to be hit. I set the total on 50 and ended up winning by 47!!!
Get those bots sorted and re-submit ;)
[edit] Now I've read the readme I've changed my rating ;)
[edit2] I lowered the score because the lack of botpathing was deliberate rather than an error. As the man says, don't release maps without botpathing.

The looks of this map bring back memories of Nalis and what not from Unreal and UT which is a good thing. There is also a huge error where you can walk on the water which is solid ground. You have to kill yourself by wakling towards the center. Gameplay could have been decent but with all the fore-mentioned problems it just doesn't work. ------------------------------ Sorry about tha, maybe I should read the readme more often. I am at fault for that. But still, no pathing would lead to a lower score. :( BTW, who exactly said u HAD to use static meshes with Ued 3.0 . I'm still working on my maps but I'm trying to base them off BSP mostly and convert brushes to static meshes if they are going to be used more.

Edit: s'alrite. yeh its a problem, but tbh im tired of this budget engine i jus want to get stuff off my harddrive. Hl2 is not that far off, there are other things to occupy me other than my computer lol. i hate beign restricted b5y SM's in this engine, whereas hl2 is bsp based, so will b far moer worthwhile to map for.
Edit2: yeh confusing if ur a 'tard *giggle* . im willing to bet money on it that ittl b released this year. yes the unreal engine is bsp based but its TERRIBLE at bsp work, my old GTKRadiant for jk2 was better tbh (see HOM effects that u get wen u try and do ANYTHING complex with it) and thats why its budget. Ive mapped for hl and ive seen hl2 Hammer and theyre very very similar. its bsp based without the annoying "import ur model if u got 3DSmax" style ut2 engine. its jus gonna b far more fun to map for than this
Edit3(lol): so u read my readme and u actually lowered ur score? how u figure that 1 out. btw im not mean, and ppl dont dl my maps anyway :P aaaand u hav to use static meshs BECUASE the bsp is so basic. u acnt do any complex modelling withit, so u hav to substitute it with SM's

Erm.... HL2 probably wont be released this year. Also.... I'm a pretty decent mapper, but Static Meshes's? They will probably be a similiar set up in the hl2 engine. And the unreal engine is bsp based fool... but budget? O_o Trust me, the HL2 engine will be a lot more confusing.

| SithLegend 07-31-2003 10:05 AM MDT | Rating: 0 | | It has a nice jungle look and feel unfortunately it killed my frames per second The top level is really cool and nice and good enough to play in, and the bottom level is not bad to play in either, but the middle level is the one I don’t like.
It could have use some invisible collision walls because I managed to get outside the map This is not good if you play this map on “LMS ”last man standing”
The map is a bit out of scale It feels to big Gets boring going level-to-level getting the stuff
Being a symmetrical level I didn’t notice any differences so I could base my instincts where I had to go to get a certain weapon in other words to know what part of the map I was on or what side
The game play is very simple kind of like DM-Insidious.ut2 but at a much larger scale Maybe if it had one less level it would react different or a different scale
I don’t care about bot paths in fact I avoid servers that have AI bots I usually add bots just so I have something to kill while I test a map out They way it is now I would not play this map online I rate maps 0 or 10 because either I like it or I don’t

Oh, poor baby, u cant use gobs of ugly looking BSP anymore! The whole point of static meshes is to increase the level of detail. youre NOT supposed to model tons of detail with geometry. maybe if u understood that, you wouldnt have a problem. Some of the best maps have almost no bsp in them. the idea is to use bsp for simple shapes and zoning, and use meshes for the details. I guess you havent figured that out yet. Btw, this "budget" engine only costs a mere 350K$ to license. doesnt sound like "budget" to me, nor to the dozens of other games thatt chose to use this engine.
Dont unload your hard drive on us. Theres this thing called DELETE. dont release maps with no botpathing.
