Nice map but I feel the textures are too bland and there are too many health vials. Nice music puts it up a few points but more eyecandy, it's a small map.
Well done, good work anyway!

Hey people, this is my first attempt at making a 1on1 map... it didnt take me long to make so there's proberably a few bugs.
So...i have added some more things to the map, changed a few things and took som advise i friend gave me... more eyecandy. i couldnt really decide where abouts to put anything so i just added some extra sky-lights, and changed the main texture as people didnt lke it too much.
at the moment im making a CTF/DM map ( cant decide which gametype would play best on it :S )
Please...just post your 100% honest opinion about my map... make it as harsh as you want, or as friendly as you wont. but dont just give bad comments because you dont know me, and dont give good comments if your a friend of mine...
anyway, i hope you guys and girls like my map :)

[Edit: i was just wondering if anyone actually liked 1on1-Destiny and would like to see my newest version of it. if you do, just comment and ill upload it as soon as possible]

[Edit2: thnx for your comment sixwings. i got the music from a mate of mine, too bad i cant remember which one :(, just search on google or something for "ut .umx" and you can find some great ones :) )

[Edit3]: Thank you for your criticisms and tips Infallible. I've already improved (i hope) the map using previous tips from friends. this new map is DM-Destiny2 incase you want to check it out. i hope you like that one as you do this one :)

I like it; it's a good map for a few lazy afternoon rounds of mindless fragging (with three players, it's even better). Only, there's a way too cozy camping ground in the side room with the shock--ammo a-plenty to spam the center ground senseless, and especially the bot(s) just NEVER kick your puhdy behind trying to smoke you out via the elevator in your back.

honest opinions you want! okay then, my first tip is
give up mapping now!! LOL j/k m8:P

ok, the skybox get rid of the u or v pan, two really
looks bad, the layout is brilliant for 1on1 played it for ages on lan-game. some how you managed to make it feel very nice with such low texture use. whatever you do DONT touch lay-out, just find better textures
and maybe add a few wall lights for extra athmo:D

I think the textures you have right now are great. The layout is fantastic! Perfect for 1-on-1 or 3 players (wouldn't go much more than that tho). The architecture is amazing - really pro designs going on there - nice :D I would have given this another point if it had better lighting. It's really dark on my puter... it's the only map that I have that's too dark, so I don't think it's my monitor, but I could be wrong. That's not my biggest complaint about the lighting tho... there's no light sourcing. If you would put some actual light sources for your lights around, and vary the light color between 2 or 3 colors it would really bring this map to life. Colored lighting would make your all gray textures suddenly look more dynamic. and with a few well placed coronas or light boxes (toned down ones tho - hate those bright ones) the atmosphere would really deepen. Something else that would have made me give another point on the rating is the ammo placement. I like where the rocket launcher is and the shock rifle. and I like the health viles, but having 4 rocket ammos right there next to the rocket launcher turns this into a rocket arena -fast. Maybe you should have only 2 rocket ammo packs on the whole level, and have them up on those corner platforms, then on the other 2 platforms you could have some other weapons and 2 ammos beside them accordingly. Also I see no need for the sniper rifles unless your in a pinch or have the Udamage. This map is too fast paced to stop anywhere and snipe.
So - the bottom line: This is a REALLY good map if you like 1-on-1 (which I do). But it only gets a 7 out of the possible 9 or 10 that it deserves due to the above mentioned problems.
P.S. - great music too.. where did you get it?

K, im back, and the first thing im gonna say is, its going on my zark server in july :D.
I loved how nothing was squarish, but i do have a few complaints.

1. The light is unsourced, add some lights there. You can put them on the walls, or on the roof, i dont care, but make it look like the lights coming from somewhere, as it wouldnt be from outside because its night time.

2. Its all gray. OK, metal is supposed to be gray, but too much metal (gray) looks bad. Add some color to your lights, or even just a LITTLE texture work would do it, but i dont see any color AT ALL except the sky.

Tips
Add some broken tiles or something. Have a pillar or something look like its broken and fallen over onto the floor and broke some tiles (good examples are DM-1on1-AugestMoon with broken tiles and DM-1on1-EternalSands for fallen pillar.

ADD COLOR!

Some ambient sounds would be nice, like wind up top, because it seems to be windy with the clouds.

Pathing i accually found good, my pathing sucks. LOL.

Found no BSP Errors, so thats good.
That was good planning on your part, because you usually get BSP Errors when using no semisolids, but you didnt because no brushes were overlapping (atleast i didnt see any when i examined it in wireframe.

Also, i would like to make a map together, if thats ok with you. I'm looking forward to it :) (added you on MSN Messenger).

Overall, i found it had pretty nice flow, which i think counts the most ;) so with a little tweaking, i think this map has great potential.

AfterThought: Why does this have an overall user rating of 5.5, when everyone except 1 person rated it over 6?

Depressing looks,but the one big prob is there is no ways around you can only go up by lifts, and down in the middle, it might be allright but didn't come off as real fun.
