| Klaa 04-03-2003 08:42 AM MST | Rating: 6 | | This is the first time I have ever commented on a map. Nothing inspirational to make me do it. I just merely became a member so that I may start doing so.
I give this map a 6 because I am seriously into Egyptian style maps, the framerates are low and the bots seemed to know how to chase me no matter where i went with their flag - NOT that I like to taunt them by running all over with their flag or anything.
If I am not mistaken this is a remake of a UT user map I also loved to play (same concept at least - Pyramid in the middle for sniping, two pyramids on each end with the player' bases -- I forget the name of that map though).
I am running a nice system, though (ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB with high processor speed and Athlon 1.3GHz CPU), but even with my system Framerates are important (I run LAN parties on 4 computers in my house, and the other computers suck :-P)
Anyway, I think this would be a nice CTF for those into straight - to the point flag captures with open space to do it with, but if you are looking for tactical fighting, tactical captures and smooth, slick and sneaky steals, this would not be the map for you. If the enemy (or bots if you are using them) is doing their job, you will be shot at from all directions when attempting the capture.
Still, even with my rating based overall compared to some awesome maps I like, I am still going to have this map in my rotation. It's great to have a change of pace and strategy in rotations, I think, and after 10 or 15 maps of closed in closterphobia, a sudden open space challange is just right to keep your party on their toes :-)
Just my positive two cents.
