How about another industrial-themed map? Actually, this one is pretty good. The gameplay is slightly botched by a bot idiosyncrasy, they stick on this ramp (see the first screenshot), but for the most part, the battlefield gets bloody enough. The author suggests 2-3 players, so I tried 3 plus myself for a total of 4 and the gameplay was still slightly stale for my pallet. The surroundings are dull, but that’s due in part to the theme, i.e. an industrial complex nested in solid rock. The creation of the geometry is good, it’s just all the rock and stone walls create the dull, no-frills atmosphere.

The layout contributes more to the map than anything else. A sniper perch overlooks an open courtyard and it’s a good site for training missiles on the enemy besides the headshot opportunities. Inside the complex, you’ll get some z-axis and a combination of long- and short-ranged encounters. There’s just enough geometry inside to make things interesting, and the item placement gets a good score for exploiting the territory.

If he was in unreal tournament standard maps I didn't see any other quality, only the waterfall...

Great map, cool music, pretty good flow. liked the different use of textures, ramps flowing water and stuff. Little dark, but that may be my computer. Liked the nooks and crannies, will be in my rotation for awhile.

Although I give Hall1 a 5.0, I think this map is a step up from Hall1, with one major exception: the outside area! It’s big, flat, and open, restricting the gameplay/strategy generated by the inside area. So I would say replace the outside area with more inside area and you’d have yourself a decent map. Anyway, as for the inside area, it feels cramped and it’s very small, so there’s a limit to the gameplay you can get goin’ in there, too. I think the inside should have been developed more and given some more breathing room. Visually, the map is solid enough. It uses uttech and those green rocks from indus, but I think it’s fine. [preaching]If a theme is good, then a theme is good; it’s “goodness” doesn’t decay through usage or time.[/preaching] In some minor notes, the mirky water adds a nice touch, but I don’t think there should be fog at the bottom of the inside “waterfalls.” Also, the music is too mysterious/suspenseful for the tech/indus theme and the fast-paced DM gameplay. IMO, one of those “could’ve been good if the author had…” maps.

Dude...z-axis means verticality in the layout, a map that is designed on a few or many levels, altitude wise.

Some nice touches (the water's fog etc) that add atmosphere, but in the end, there aren't any real standout elements..and the technical execution isn't really above the original Unreal 1 / UT maps'. Still, some decent stuff in there.
