I've found the best tactic for high-ping players is to hang around the top base entrances and the top level, with sniper rifle and minigun. It's dangerous on the ground... and easier to enter the bases via the top/sides. Should've made those entrances a bit further from the switch to balance them with the harder-to-enter front entrance. Even if you do get redeemed, you still release your team (and yourself). The two redeemers easily reachable for everyone give this map an extra dimension.
