unlike DM-Cathedral]I[, this map actually kinda fits its name and is recognisable as a cathedral; i could also make a bad pun tho now because it isn't exactly great :/

it lacks both in terms of graphics and gameplay, and while it will hardly be possible to make a cathedral map that stays true to its theme and plays well in UT DM, the gameplay still has to be judged by this gamemode's criteria, and doesn't succeed there, unfortunately. a better example of a map of this kind (altho more complex and more technically competent) that actually fits its gametype is TH-Korman from the Thievery:UT mod.

This 5 in entirely for design - the map looks beautiful, its kind of like a less intense Falkenstein, but using all default textures and meshes.

Excessive poly count, thats not the way to put it, just running around inside the cathedral the poly/node count was 656/1258..outside on the roof the poly count jumped to over 1000! Considering, according to CliffyB, you should be shooting for 160polys/350nodes for ideal speed..well, it runs like maple syrup. In the winter. In Antartica.

I like the map though, real pretty, just completely unplayable, even just to run around and look at.

Hey, if you like maps that are huge, visually uninteresting boxes, then you’ll love this one! Well, “we’ll give the author a break if the gameplay is good,” right? The layout is virtually non-existent, and the parts that do exist are poorly done! Still, there’s a big sniper tower with a shield belt, so that makes everything okay (wink, wink).
