AWE: 1.5 The architecture here isn't really grand (my mind can't think of better adjectives lately, grr), but it does get the submarine theme done very well, and submarines aren't very extravagant anyways. Some of the light textures chosen wouldn't be my first choice for a sub, but most everything else works fine, a couple textures look like a ladder that would lead to a hatch. The periscope is especially cool. Lighting could use some working, it looks ok, but could be better.
BUILD: 2 The "skybox" is pretty sweet, look out a window and you'll see another sub running along side (one on each side). One problem I noticed with this though, when looking out the windows at the center of the map, you don't see either of the other 2 subs. The periscope has a cool idea, you can look into the circular glass and see some ships, though it is a texture from the D-day pack, but still cool never the less. Brush-work and all the rest looks good.
CAST: 1.5 Gameplay isn't too bad, bots know the map well. Capturing the flag requires some teamwork, as the routes are kind of cramped, not much dodging room. I didn't see the bots take the upper most route much at all, unless they spawned there. Item placement is great, nothing is out of the way, and the flow is a little annoying as doorways aren't flush with the wall, there's enough space for someone to stand against the wall and not be in the doorway.
SCORE: 5 The map certainly isn't spectacular, but it does have somewhat of a unique theme, which is done fairly well. Worth downloading to see for yourself. |

Brought to you by the same people that did DM-Stonehenge--Edwin "Eddie Bouncer", "Coldiron" Koudijzer. I could just stop and stare out the 'windows' for hours...

And about not being able 2 see the two subs from the windows in the conning tower...tried it, but caused massive HOM...but that's for ur own good perhaps...who want's his bum kicked when looking out of a window...
| AMmayhem 08-01-2003 04:08 PM MDT | Rating: 6 | | This map is somewhere in the middle, which isn't as easy to review for when you're still a n00b. ;-) This map has it's ups and downs, but you can see for yourself if you'd like.
| EvilSwanky 08-04-2003 04:34 AM MDT | Rating: 7 | | The isn´t bad at all. Sometimes I think there could be more Details in it, and the Lightning is often boring. BUT: The Floorplan is good, there are many ways to the enemy's flag, and the bots are hard to beat. So all in all it's a good map during breaks.
| bubbathefool 08-06-2003 01:05 AM MDT | Rating: 6 | | Uh? I don't get it. A reviewer gives this map a 5, then the same reviewer sheds his skin, jumps into comments and says: "Â This map is somewhere in the middle, which isn't as easy to review for" (whatever that means) and then gives it a 6?? Weird. Anyway, I agree with the 6.
| Enigma 02-23-2004 01:34 PM MST | Rating: 8 | | Despite being kind of cramped, this map delivers. I defend the base with Godlike bots, and I assign all but one of the my teammates to capture. The map is difficult to capture, even I have some trouble. I rarely capture the flag. But defending the base can get you muchos points.
My friend and I thought of improvements for the map... a keg of health in the conning tower, thigh pads on top of one of the ledges in the bases and a hidden shieldbelt in each base (e.g. in the red base where the nukes are placed in the wooden boxes...on top of the box). Same place in the other base.
