| reddeth 02-07-2004 04:11 PM MST | Rating: 4 | | 2 falg rooms at oposite ends of a very small canyon. WWII themed map with shallow foxholes in front of each flag room. A short bridge over a large foxhole with water in it is in the center. Very unatural look to the map with 90 degree angles everywhere. To cramped to manuver. If doubled in size maybe worth playing.
| Ironblayde 03-12-2004 09:54 AM MST | Rating: 1 | | Reddeth pretty much summed up what the gameplay is like: not worth it at all. What hasn't been mentioned, though, is that this map seems as though it was released before it was finished. A few things that I noticed immediately:
- The author recommends eight players as a minimum, and yet there are only eight playerstarts in the game. Prepare to get telefragged.
- All the playerstarts face the same direction. ALL of them. If you spawn in the wrong place you'll be facing a wall, and if you're on the wrong team, you'll spawn facing backwards.
- One of the sets of teleporters has the same problem. How hard is it to rotate teleporters so they face the correct direction?
- No attempt whatsoever was made at texture alignment in any part of the map.
- Many of the brushes leave strips of land showing where there shouldn't be anything, because they have too many vertices and don't align to the grid.
- You can see under the horizon line from the sniper towers, and clearly see a sky texture plastered onto a wall.
- The default game type is not set.
- There are nets of barbed wire, but they don't impede movement. You should be able to shoot between the wires, but not walk through them.
I'll give it a 1 because it actually runs and it's better than CTF-andACTION, but there's nothing to see here. Pass this one by.
