Have you ever lived next to tacky neighbors who think toilet and tire planters, and a yard full of decorations is a cool thing? This map reminds me of that. Every color in the rainbow, every theme-like object that could be planted in this map is in there. It’s overwhelming. Sometimes, less is more.
The gameplay doesn’t make up for the menagerie of mania. You bebop from spot to spot, fall through multiple holes in the floor, or search in vain for that perfect weapon for your surroundings. Nothing fits. It’s like a Face rip-off/DM conversion gone horribly wrong. What’s worse is that the author appears to have some talent, but it’s as if they’ve tried to cram every idea they’ve ever had into one creation. Download at your own risk.

| Kee-Runch!!! 12-22-2002 11:38 PM MST | Rating: 4 | | I really didn't think this map was THAT bad. It certainly wasn't my style at all, but it wasn't anything as bad as what the review said.
The only issues that I personally noticed were some blocking problems by the jackals? hyenas? The dog-like animals with the glowing altars between their forepaws.
Additionally, I really disliked the way that some of the power-ups were hidden...it seemed very awkward to me for some reason.
Other than that, it just altogether didn't play very well to me...but then, I already said it wasn't my style.
| primemover 12-23-2002 12:49 AM MST | Rating: 6 | | harsh review, while not the best map, and while being pretty garish overall, it is surprisingly fun to play, alot of areas to wander and attack from, with plenty of cover to do some run and gunnin', I just wish he would fix the collision issues with those two dogs.
| Agent X 12-25-2002 06:23 PM MST | Rating: 4 | | well, it's better than Serpentine & other maps that shipped with the game, but still...
Primemover : I just wish he would fix the collision issues with those two dogs.
yeah, I noticed this two, very akward...
| darkelf~ 12-23-2002 03:00 AM MST | | I have np with the review. If he didn't like it he didn't like it. Was my first for UT 2003. I was harsh on the colors (Lol) and I didn't know about blocking volums until after it was released =P. Oh well, one day Ill get it right. PS- the Face3 ripoff was a bit odd...
| Bot40 12-26-2002 09:50 AM MST | Rating: 2 | | OMG @ Mersil. Stupid thing to say. If someone needs encouragment to continue mapping, what's the point. They obviously don't enjoy it, otherwise they'd just do it and want to improve without someone constantly kissing their ass. However, giving critisism IS positive as in it lets the author see what they did wrong and how they can improve. Anyone with any ambition and who wants to improve knows that the best way to do that is to have someone tell them what is wrong with what they are doing. If you subtract a cube and release it to the public, then people start saying it's the best map ever, how does that help them improve? O_o And if you still don't like the way reviews are conducted here, go to Blast Radius and download every map that gets over 90%...oh wait....that would be every map that they've ever reviewed. Oh well, at least it encourages the author so they continue to make shit maps.
Edit: And looking at Darkelf's comment, it seems he actually knows how to take critisism. The only person the review seems to be offending is you O_o
Edit: Oh wow, Mersil deleted his comment. Maybe he actually realised how retarded it actually was. O_o
| SealClubber 12-24-2002 03:27 PM MST | Rating: 4 | | THIS MAP IS WAY BETTER THAN THAT LOW RATING!!!
| Trailblazer 12-25-2002 06:28 PM MST | Rating: 3 | | Well, I found that most parts of the map, individually were very nice, but together, yes, didn't match too good. I agree with the previous comments, DarkElf has some talents, but needs to work on blending things nicely. Which is difficult. Good for a first try!
| Frostblood 12-27-2002 06:41 AM MST | Rating: 4 | | a very good start, really nice architecture for a begginer, and good use of meshes, although there are slightly too many. i dont like "arena" style maps that much, but this one was pretty good. very good start!
| SirTahngarth 12-28-2002 01:25 PM MST | Rating: 3 | | Like the review says, you waaaaaaaaaaay overdid it with the meshes. nuff said.
| EvilVey 12-29-2002 10:32 AM MST | Rating: 4 | | Yeah, this map has some serious mesh issues and some of the colored lights are horrible but I didn't think it deserved so low of a score. It wasn't all that bad.
| SJAndrew 06-07-2003 12:50 AM MDT | Rating: 7 | | Man, I'm stunned at the poor rating of this map!
I've played it several times, and I enjoy it.
Good points:
-Good looking -Good constrast between tight hallways and open places -Good framerate -Good, logical flow -Good 3-axis gameplay
Bad points:
-Some jumps are inaccurate -Collision detection on two dogs is flawed (they appear much smaller than they are) -Collision detection on large sphinx is flawed (can have some clipping errors)
While it is a little schizophrenic, it's still a good map that produces good gameplay.
| [morpheus] 06-19-2004 03:12 PM MDT | Rating: 4 | | What a David review. Personally, I think the map has what a certain person would call "notranji zgib"("inner curve"-don't ask)-something 96% of the maps and their authors lost somewhere sometime. About the gameplay... well... blah.
