I find it hard to start a review without any positive comments in hand. Now in the off case you find spammy maps fun, then heck, have I got a map for you...
DM-LANmap is a simple arena, as you can tell from the screenshots. Yes, that's the whole map. 8 spokes radiate outward from the killing hub. Item placement provides abundant arms/ammo for the 40 player starts, 5 along the back wall of each, along with a kicker to launch players to the health-walk above. Smack in the resulting circle of ensuing cross-fire lie the three prime power ups and at their nexus, MrDeemer. That hand held nuke awaits for the fastest with a translocator. Believe me, a quick suicide bombing run at the start should result in a fast multikill. The e-radiating of on-rushing bots will give you a boost up the score ladder. I got all 10 bots on my initial attempt! That's 9 frags for me, Zero for the rest of you. (10 kills minus one for self-frag).
On architecture, there's not a lot to say here either, well not anything good. Again I see the un-deintersected subtract-a-brush build technique in action. Lack of trim on the upper catwalks and obvious texture tiling on the floor and cieling offend the eye no matter which way you look. Heh, it's all the same. The mesh supports do not terminate properly and do not tie with the brush work between.
Without going into more smack-down, DM-LANmap does get good framerates. There, I said something good. Made before the first patch, has niether a preview screen or level summary. The download is short, as should any comments. We do have an anti-flame policy at NaliCity, Reviewers are the only exception. |

Design: 4/10 >>>Good design...too bad it wasn't done by a professional. I don't mind playing these kinds of arenas every now and then, but I prefer my maps to look a little bit less Doomish.
Awe: 1/10 >>>I could go lower I suppose but I don't like giving out zeros. There's nothing to see here. Move along.
Difficulty: 5/10 >>>It's as average as they come. If you're a good player, it'll be easy. If you're a bad player, we'll try to identify you at the morgue.
Overall: 3/10 >>>This one is fun to play once a month, but I don't clutter my PC with imperfection and certainly not garbage.
