An indoor/outdoor combo map that offers a little variety. It’s an ‘okay’ map, but could be better. I like the fact that you can fight area-style and in open spots outdoors, and I like the multiple z-axis, but it certainly isn’t worth an above average score. If you want some action, I recommend that you play with at least ten opponents.
It would appear as though there is a pathing problem indoors at the pedestal for the rocket launcher. On several occasions, I saw bots bunched up at the pedistal not knowing what to do. However, I don’t want to ‘dis’ the map, because I still feel it could be a good map to frag around in for awhile. Some thought was given to the item placement, but you might want to go with low-gravity if you want to capture the amp without too much hassle.

Im gonna guess the player block is there for a reason (keep from jumping outta map) Ok ill just download it and see...boy i hate having 56k its a pain in the neck when i gotta wait 10 mins for a file this small...waiting...DONE..testing... ok This map is going to the trash like so many other maps i have downloaded. Personally im tired of seeing so many terrain maps THEY'RE BORING!! What happened to the old indoor maps of UT we all loved to play. Alright i played against some bots and there was an area near the RL where they just stop and stand. The map looks okay for a terrain level and the building is boring. Gameplay wise its very similar to other new outdoor maps, you go up some hills and you go down and jump up a rock !!W00T!! Nothing special here. I wanna see some abstract outdoor maps like am old war base thats been blown up scatter in a forset or something. Maybe its just me i dunno:(

I do have a few minor problems with the map. For one, the 2x is in a particularly inaccessible location. If you're going to have one, you might as well put it somewhere useful. The bot pathing also seems to be a little less than ideal; they tend to get hung up in the central rocket-launcher room a lot, and don't seem to cruise some of the outlying areas much.
A solid map in any rotation.

Still it's not all that bad. IMO, the author has potential, especially if this is a first effort by a new mapper.
Edit: Amp... If you know how to dodge, boost and hammer jump it's not hard to get.

Additionally in the map description it says that this is a moon base, yet I didn't really get that feeling from the map. Since Caliban is a moon of Uranus, I think ice textures would have given the map more atmosphere than grass...
All in all, it's certainly playable, just not something that's going to blow you away.

With some adjustments this map could become ownage. First, replace the static mesh under the rocket laucher. Create something more appealing. Place some doors (as in Flux2) between in and out in some areas. The roof should have a bit more detail. (as in Phobos2) By the way, an ion canon would do just nicely in here. Tweek the item placement and zoning. The biggest flaw, i found, was that there's to much terrain. Especialy around the 2 pipes with (only?) 3 mini health's and around the tube.cabinet mesh. With a little more Z, and a feel that is a mix between Flux2 and Phobos2, i'll be happy to download this map again. Great job! (so far...)
| Geddy 12-18-2002 08:27 PM MST | Rating: 5 | | Above par, mildly impressive. Good use of static mesh, but poor item placement. The layout was different, but slightling boring. This map just barely didn't stay on my harddrive...it was fun to play, but not for very long.

The only problem I saw here was with the bot bug, but who wants to play bots anyways . A good addition to this map though would have been a jumppad located where the rocket launcher is to get quickly to the roof . Great map saroner keep up the good work !!!

I didn't try long, though. It's good that itäs hard to take. If I ran a server with custom maps, I would add this.

The highlight, which was a frag magnet seemed to be the rocket launcher in the center of the complex. In fact they should have called it dm-chamber, because that was the only area where frags happened. No one would stay outside, and everything gravitated toward that center. If they did a few interesting terrain changes outside (maybe a cave/tunnel network???) and maybe a loop around the complex it would have been better.
