Tech'd up from the UT version A.K.A. CTF-Gauntlet, I liked the original with its Cryptic textures and Lava pit for being abit more ominous opposed to the retail DM-Asbestos feel we find ourselves in. However, a laser grid that magically crisscrosses from the lower pits sends players to the flip flop physics down over a collection of pipes that are there solely for the pleasure of watching UT2003 Karma in action and a place at the bottom for the mapper's sig.
The Author does us the justice by making this version symmetrical and providing spawn rooms, however they can be misused for by spawn killers, flag nappers and nabbers alike. Minor texture alignment errors abound and the side rooms in the middle ground need more attention for better gameplay/accessability. Lighting also can be improved but is used well to help navigation through the use of team colors.
Playing a 4 vs 4 was good for a close game as the bots know their stuff (except avoiding the side rooms as aluded before). They do have a hard time negotiating the Translocator to get the Rocket Launcher and Shock Rifles on the ledges that are across the laser pits. A remake worthy of being called CTF-Gauntlet][, but as the Author was found inebriated, CTF-Drunklet *hic* |

| [TBUK]2Live 12-06-2002 02:19 PM MST | Rating: 8 | | A nice map which includes teamplay, speed, multiroutes and it doesn't eat your fps. I hope ut2k3 gets more maps like this, because the game needs it.
To much maps which are very pretty, but doesn't include gameplay which we had in UT.

| SirTahngarth 03-15-2003 06:13 PM MST | Rating: 6 | | This is more like it. If you want to do a remake, do it like this. This is clearly done by the author and not just some lame import of a UT .T3D file. It's done well, too. Fun, and has a fresh look, here is a remake that is worth your time.
| Morphias 03-16-2003 04:40 AM MST | Rating: 1 | | Sick of seeing UT remakes, it is getting boring.
| 1/2LuNaTiC 03-22-2003 02:47 PM MST | Rating: 6 | | Once again ignorant comments. This map deserves a decent score since the author took the time to add more details and do more with the new engine.
| Shadowlurker 07-08-2003 02:04 PM MDT | Rating: 4 | | To too bad of a remake...
| Madogg_UK 01-30-2004 08:26 AM MST | Rating: 8 | | Remakes are what UT2k3 needs. I find the maps on UT2k3 pretty much suck. Id rather play UT than UT2k3, there aint no UT game that is gonna beat Unreal Tournament unless they have same game play. Remakes is what UT2k3 needs, but even then, wont be as good as UT
Edit: _GMotha, I only play UT2k3 so I can play Death Ball with my clan ;) Not a dumb question, and a simple answer :)
| _GMotha 12-28-2003 08:53 AM MST | Rating: 5 | | why do you play ut2k3 then? just a dumb question (most likely with a dumber answer)
