In the castle area of this map, my frame rate dropped to about 3 fps. This is on an Athlon XP 1900+, 512 mb DDR RAM, GeForce 4 Ti 4200. This is unacceptable.
The basic design is uninspiring, too. Lots and lots of players with not NEARLY enough different spawn points, so you get clouds of respawns at the same location in quick succession. It's wide open, which encourages sniping, i.e. unimaginative and one-dimensional play. There's too much health too close together.
Castles and their grounds *could* be interesting, but it'll take serious attention to both the architecture and the surrounding landscape, and neither of those reflects much thought in this one. It has a slapped-together feel, and the abyssmal performance suggests that it simply wasn't playtested. A shame, the basic idea definitely has potential.
Oh, and there's a satellite high, high above the playing field, for no discernable reason except to take up polys. Feh.
