Here’s a map that looks good and plays even better as far as bot battling goes. In fact, it’s easily one of the most challenging maps I’ve ever played. You constantly have to watch your step, but at the same time, you have to keep an eye out for bots. The bots were dicing me up left and right; I was getting killed from all directions, and sometimes I’d be dead before I figured out where the attack was coming from. There are lots of places for z-axis opportunities, and the bots take full advantage of them.

It’s a tight map that needs at least 6 players if you want a good fight. There’s always interesting geometry to look at, mood lighting, sounds and some contrast so everything doesn’t look the same all the time, but it still maintains some sort of theme. There are a couple of issues with the map, the main one being flow. Because of the design, you have to watch your step a great deal of the time, or else you’ll find yourself in a pit of doom, lava, or falling through to another floor, but I’m okay with this since it’s part of the theme. However, I did find myself sticking on the walls a bit, which is something I don’t like to see when I’m battling tough bots. The other issue is a minor texture problem with some lava inside a wall.

The map is definitely worth a download, especially if you like a challenge. There’s plenty to do for a mid-sized map and plenty of places to get the drop on someone; just be prepared to take some hits from all directions.

It's good but it isn't worth the Ownage.

It's ok, probably the second best map on ownage next to Alpu. The use of prefabs is good, but i really want to see nwe statics already, but i suppose mixed old and new prefabs are better than a complete rip. The skelenton cage is pretty neat, but it does lack a certain detail, something extra to make it a 7 or an 8. I gave it a 6, which isn't bad considering my harsh ratings :)

I agree, its a nice map but imo not quite "0wnage" material. The looks are good, although Im not very fond of the "hell" static meshes, but its the layout that puts me off the most, Im not sure why because technically it is a *good* layout but in practice it just doesn't feel right.Still, I will be looking for more maps by this author cos he definately has talent.

Good map, plays fun, but some sections of the maps are a little small. Also some scaling problems I think. Good construction, but the layout is a little off IMO. But I LOVE the theme!!!

I have mixed feelings about this map. I like the complexity in the layout, takes a while to learn your way around the place. Overall I just think the atmosphere rubbed be the wrong way. Decent map.

Really good map. Good textures and sound. Hygog shows David shows true talent with map making. The ownage award says it all.

This is better than most of the ownage, but IMO it's still not great.

well, it's the best ownage yet, but then again still not good. Average layout with gimmicks & average lighting.

When I first played this map I was like cool... than I saw a lot of mapping error and the lack of trims in many places. also the fact that it had mostly a room hall room syndrome... It looks good but plays bad IMHO.

Epic Syndrome all over. All those darn Static meshes make it next to impossible to move around without getting stuck on something. It does however look good, shame about the gameplay.

Message to Cliff: Please stop adding freaky stuff to the 0wnage page. ;)

Not worth an ownage: some great custom ut-maps really did crush the standard maps. This one isn't really crushing the epic maps.

I agree with the 6.5 (maybe a 7)

Decent map, but definetly no 0wnage..

While the Visuals and Construction are top notch, the layout feels as if you are constantly in a corridor to nowhere thus avoiding the R-C-R syndrome by removing the "Room" elements, but in no ways does this make the map unplayable or even on the bad side of the scale. Far better than the rest of the dribble being made today, I will rate this map above average and worthy of a look, even if that's all you intend to do.

I'm intrigued by all the negative comments about this one; I was quite taken by it. The use of space is SO much better than most maps; how can you not like it?

Thematically it's tight, tight, tight. None of the design elements seem out of place. And the attention to detail is superb -- there are even skeletons at the bottom of the lava pit, a minor visual detail that most mappers wouldn't even think of. The little skulls peeking out of wall niches here and there are also a lovely touch.

The author has also paid attention to performance; the intricate detailing of the map surfaces will strain even today's studliest cards. But antiportals abound, a much-appreciated optimisation step.

The lighting is bland, although it's neither obtrusive nor objectionable. A bit more shadow work and this map would dazzle.

Let's see... the weapon mix is pretty good, although the lightning gun is a bit out of place in this map's maze of twisty little passages. There's perhaps a touch too much ammo, though again that's not a big deal. The flow is quite good, which covers a multitude of sins. Lots of opportunity for z-axis firefights and round-the-corner splash damage; crafty players take note. ;)

The bots play quite well, further evidence of the author's attentiveness. And the default player load of 4 is perfect -- enough to produce group melees at times, but few enough that you'll spend a while skulking around, trying to get the drop on your enemies. 2x2 is pretty good, although team monopolisation of key areas like the flak cannon is quite a bit easier than individual domination. 1x1 won't work well, the map's too big & twisty for that. I'd guess it'd play reasonably well up to 6 or 8, but not more.

This map should be in any low-load rotation.

Yeah, the looks are soso... it plays... well lets just say it at least plays. I think everything could of been so much better if the author would of taken more time and paid attention to the game flow and the lighting. Keep it up kid, I look forward to seeing your next map... whenever that may be :

Needs work, especially that central jail area. How boring can you get? Dance around the lava, tippy toe to the keg 'o health or trap yourself at the double damage above?? This is fun??
