A map by Twrecks! Believe me, he has done much better then this, so I dont hold this map against his skill. Purina was created using what Twrecks calls, experimental mapping. He claims to have used 3rd party brush tools to make it, and it is obvious. Is the map utter crap? No. Dont look at my numerical score, mostly Awe and Build damaged it. Gameplay is good enough. Just read:)

Visually, there isnt anything really inspiring. Structures are made basic and misalignments are clearly visible. The map does use trim, which oddly enough actually improves the many ramps and catwalks that make up the majority of the maps playing field. Lighting bothered me more than anything, this map would have probably looked better with an adjusted illumination scheme. All the lights are too bright and over abundant. There is no way the light emitted from the skybox could light the map the way it appears. There are a few giant red light coronas, yet no red lighting. There is a red hue in the lighting near the maps only lift, but it is cast crudely. Im not to fond of the texture choices, not because they are brown but because they are mainly base textures. No bricks or tiled floors, it is all smooth stone. The theme is set on a large spire-like peak, alot like DM-Peak only less convincing visually. Overall, it isnt what I would call Fugly...wait, yes it is. But it is good fugly as opposed to the type of fugly that rates lower than a 1 out of 3. Yes, this map is executive fugly, missing a few touches to lighting and textures that would make it average for UT.

Gameplay is ok, you have to run around on many ramps and twisting catwalks. Unlike DM-Peak, this map has pretty good flow. There is always enough room to move and item placement actually requires some tactics. For instance, youd have to lift jump in the central elevator to reach the upper most platform, which holds the powerup. Jump pads make a sound everyone can hear when used, alerting all players to a pad jumper (this is more risky in 1 on 1 games, and this map can support 1 on 1 pretty good). DAMN, I gotta say that I am actually impressed as I write this, the floorplan is very simple, yet the map is very fluid and I actually did have some good bot fragging. Its average, but its much more than I expected based on the looks, and it is proof that the visuals were indeed experimental in this one. I did fall through the catwalk leading to one of the jumpads, which kinda sucked.

The Prophet’s Verdict: Certainly not a pretty map, underaverage in looks when compared to the Epic UT maps. But the gameplay is good, standard, but good. Better gameplay and flow than DM-Peak, this is a good one for fast servers since nothing exists to slow down a game. And be sure to jump to that lower pad, the strut leading to it seems to let players fall through its ‘holes’.

Nice flow, fun to play, the jumppad is pretty cool. There are a few BSP cuts, and a long one in the skybox. Also think the redeemer is too easy to get:)

The average DM map of UT. Its OK, but nothing special. The map overall was kind of bland and uninspired. Me gives it a 4

What happens when you import sun-dried canine processed purina into Ued2: This map. Still no way a 3.5, atleast a 4.0! look at how the play area/lighting/texturing blends with UT's fugliest skybox :D
BTW, if u shoot off the deemer anywhere inside you should set off a nasty earthquake, that's worth the extra 0.5 there dOOd. Seriously, thxs for the reviewage Pro, nice job.

Creative map. Interesting layout and a nice sniper spot. Not very large, but does not need to be. I like this one.
