Be confused, be very confused
This Flag baggin' map has a big hurt on fresh meat aka my grey muscle. Large enough for huge player loads, only more computer brawn is required. Even for normal play, my wimpy 233 choked at the awsome polys (stay off the roofs) and occlusion slag spinnin' my frame rates down in this wizard's maze of insipered architecture. Droppin rez and detail levels deslugged gameplay alittle, now if there was just a way to hit the bots with a stupid stick I might have stood a chance. The detail level in this map is of Epic proportions, even Unrealesque to a point seeing Nali and Skaarj duke it out feels comfortable. Maybe someone could make a Kraal model for UT to round out these homeboys. Plenty of Z-axis oppurtunities exsist, even where you don't think they don't... Like the seemingly simple looking flag room and the 100 bonus point question "where's the keg-o-health?". Multiple routes convolute together forming a twisted haze of dimentia. This map definatly gets you out of the box style maps and reminds players what 'terrain' is. In fact, excellent architecture, fabulous lighting and superb texturing combine into a sublime environment that makes me want to blow 200 bucks on a Voodoo5500PCI card, right now. (hello Santa!) So what about the bots, Item placement and flow? Hmm... One, they are sneaky SOBs, and don't get lost. Weapons get real scarce, turn on "weapons stay", better yet, EXCESSIVE OVERKILL (big smile). And flow, uh, way. Once you do get your bearings you'll discover the intrincate paths that not only give cover but also tasty pick-ups and those spawn points which should be avoided going in and used as relief support once back on home turf. Okay, enough huff and fluff. What could have been done better is seperating the specific outside areas, or "hallows" with walls that get mapped with the sky box. The extra hillage isn't worth the slow downs, plus access over these rocky barriers doesn't seem to be intended. Sound effects get overbearing, tone down the volume, minor I know considering most maps haven't any. Last, The lifts look terrible, an overscaled transpartent texture, plus no guides or rails. | HypErioN | Rating: 8.5 | | Very, very cool terrain. Excellent use of the Ued2 terrain brush. A bit confusing layout, but its good. Someparts look less inspired but hell, this map is great! Skybox is a bit on the gay side... should have used more subtle blue and less red, yellow, green etc. I give it what it deserves... A 8.5... End of discussion! ;)

I don't however particularly like this map...it isn't very fun to me and its kinda dark and dreary. I have also found 3 places where the bots get stuck and confused and that ruins gameplay. Its good that the author puts multiple routs to the flag but there is only one short rout and lets face it, everyone is going to take that one since its the shortest which leaves the rest of the map (which is pretty big) like a ghost town...not very fun.
