Reviewer Twrecks Overall Score:  8.5/10 Date NC2 11-04-2000 Location is a ancient Nali temple. So it says in the readme. What it doesn't say is this map rolls on strong in every aspect of mapping and playing this map is simply alot of fun. I said simple right? Yes, perhaps the learning curve on this map is kinda low, but that doesn't slow down the bots from making it their home. Being small, a half deck of 9 players is near max, alittle over the author's recommended of 4-6. Short distances supporting the smaller load. Okay, it's a Nali Temple, a bird circles about the island's spires and moss hangs from the beams. The texturing is mainly Ancient adding to the well worn architecture and abandoned aura. The music fits and a coulpe ambient soundFX are in tune with the theme. Lighting is sublime, a night time frag above, a temple and caves below are appropriately lit with moonlight and torch flames. The Continuity of simple Architecture, conservative lighting and nice texturing makes a good location for domination, and what's know as "gaming goodness", ie. high FPS. And the Control Points: Peak In the pagoda like structure with the flat roof is the top most CP. Grabbing the Rocket Launcher from the lawn will help clear defenders on the second tier. Ledge The best looking CP in the map, situated on the dock like platform, it can be accessed from several directions. The interior temple with the ShieldBelt pool will refresh the weary. Cave On the farside of the island, in... a cave. This is the most easily defended CP. A view of the ocean and some cold blue flames relax the campers pitching their tents in here. A strong resemblance to Unreal and happy memories of Sunspire put this map high on my "gotta review" list, and maybe, now on your play list.

Having 8.2GB of "UT" directory, this map goes into an alternate "maps" directory for easy access. Maybe "[--x--]Lurkerbot" might like this one also? He seems to be the "know" all of what makes a good map. Though, from his childish manners the newbie should be banned from posting comments. eggyNJ Rating: 10   This rocks so much it, kicks ass. The gameplay is so high and it just seems cool. I think I only just beat the bots on this 100-97 on skilled. This would have been commercial quality in its day.... nightshadow 06-19-2004 09:45 PM MDT Rating: 9   without a doubt my fav UT DOM map! my only problem is when i occasionally get stuck in a pit near the entrance to the stairs leading to the pool area. if you arn't shot, suicide is the only option there. but that's the ONLY downside to this awesome map :)
