This map rocks
What? I need to say more?
The Control Points:
Boxes well, on some boxes, wahat did you expect?
Catwalk more like the landing at the top of a ramp. Traffic below makes this CP a good defensive position to hold on to.
Catwalk (outside) In front of the Tournament themed poster, the armor near by and the items below help keep defenders alive and kicking. I'm still a bit confused about the theme, but the map has good coninuity of architecture, lighting and textures. Maybe it's just the name that is non-descipt. The fun factor is up with compitent BOTs and excellent flow. The connectivity is superb and the various windows give warnings of nearby traffic. Item placement is ample for the authors recommended range of 4-8 players. As this is a small map, greater numbers will require "weapons stay" as is also recommended by the author. Textures are the real high point of this map. Two utx files will compliment your exsisting collection and the arcitecture is well realized to show case the contents of these files. Only one place did I feel cheated of detail. There are some outside stairs where the edge of the steps lack trim. The other downside I discovered is that humans can go places not intended for game play, this is not a big detriment as keeping Control Points is the main objective and snooping about doesn't serve much purpose. Oh well, can't blame me for Transloctating up the light spires for a better view of a great "space" sky-box. Speaking of light spires, the lense flares and definition of sources are well done, the purple Klingon-like cut outs could have emmintated some colored light and been trimmed in with either additional architecture or laminated texture. Sounds on the other hand are everywhere, a bit overdone but preventing the music from being the dominant audio.
In conclussion, this map was challenging to dominate and fun to play in it's unique space wharehouse environment. The lack of movers or other "gimmicks" prevent it from being truely great. While the no need for BOTs to think hard doesn't make it a no-brainer to win, I suggest you play it for its clean architecture, smooth flow, superb lighting and excellent texturing.
