DM-Virtual is somewhat fun to play because of its good frame rates and neon textures. There is no Readme, but the level info tells us that the map was authored by Daniel Christensen.
You have about 3 different floors to run around and explore, but all you're going to see are boxy shapes everywhere. This is really a novelty map that relies on the textures as its strongpoint. You can run up ramps or steps to get from one floor to the next, or jump through openings in the floors to frag somebody with a sneak attack. There is a little bit of z-axis opportunities, but for the most part, you'll be ducking behind square boxes for cover.
The bots did a pretty good job, but since there are no player starts on the top floor, once a bot wanders up there, it is usually alone for quite a long time before it gets any company. I played this one with about 8, and there was plenty of stuff to kill with. The ammo was a little overly done, but the sparse health will keep things interesting. I didn't particularly enjoy spawning and grabbing up the biorifle, which was the closest thing to me. Everybody else had long-ranged weapons, and here I was throwing green muck at them about as far as I could spit. If you feel like taking a long plunge down a chute, you can grab the nuke if the fall doesn't finish you off.
The lightingĂ–.wellĂ–..what do you do for lighting in a place like this? You just make sure it is lit up so you can see. You also have some music to listen to if you want. |

| Lustmord | Rating: 6 | | I just added a few spawnpoints on the top level and *ALA-PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICHES!*, a much improved experience. Download it, it runs like a dream.
| Agent X | Rating: 6 | | Fun map, interesting use of textures.
| Croz | Rating: 9 | | Although for the vast majority of this level you remain in the wide open, the fun factor is totally there in this level, along with the great virtual display
