This level is styled around Quake 3. All of the textures been converted from Quake 3. Traitor! ;-)
The level is basically a multi-level arena. Numerous doors and teleporters lead from the main arena, providing cover from combat. Quake 3 style jump pads find themselves scattered about this level. They are the primary means to traverse the various floors of the arena. Lighting is superb, although I think that too many light boxes are used. A suitable music track has been chosen, which adds to overall atmosphere. Item placement is spot on. The redeemer has been placed in a secret room on the ground floor; the entrance to which is guarded. As well as the jump pads, there are a multitude of teleporters, providing a secondary means of transport between floors. There is however a teleporter that doesn't work. It instead displays an error message as you try to use it. There's a problem with the skybox, well, erm, lack of. The sky has been implemented by the use of a scrolling texture on the ceiling. This looks pretty lame when you get up close to it.
The architecture and ideology of this level somewhat resemble Quake 3. The distinctive style of architecture, resident throughout much of the Quake 3 levels, has been wonderfully grafted into this Unreal Tournament Level. A problem with the architecture is that it's too easy to get snagged on the light fittings on the wall. This is extremely annoying if this happens during a heated fight. As you may have guessed from the level title, and the screenshot, there's a Titan prowling the lower levels of the arena. It's hilarious to watch the bots jump down, use every clip of ammo on the Titan, for it to slowly lumber over, and take them out with one clean swipe. The bots don't do this often, only on occasion.
When I first got this level, a week ago, the bots didn't move around. Instead they stayed where they spawned. Upon closer inspection in UnrealED, I discovered that the AI was in place, but the author hadn't clicked the "Paths Define" button in UnrealED. I wasn't going to let an error like this spoil an otherwise excellent level, so I emailed Marc and explained the situation. He consequently fixed the error, and an sent in updated version of his level. All in a day's work for a Nali City reviewer. ;-)
The bots work fine now; they play as well as any human.
In conclusion, this is an excellent level; unless you've seriously got something against Quake 3. Personally I like Quake 3 as well as Unreal Tournament. This level is an excellent fusion of both games. Try four to eight players for a challenging game.
DM Titan is;
Small to medium sized
Fast paced
Architecturally brilliant
DM Titan is not;
For those who are likely to get annoyed about the random quakes caused by the Titan's footfalls.
Perfect by any means
For those so committed to UT, that they hate Quake 3

| Shock6822 | Rating: 8 | | Good deal with the Titan, didnt like the textures at points, bots were sometimes quirky
| storm 03-16-2003 11:18 PM MST | Rating: 8 | | the only prob about titania][ is that mr. titan wasnt so keen or rearing his ugly head for a bit of a biffo and was locked away in his little dungeon [witch wasnt fair :(] but in this ol' map he has a little more freedom it would be good to have mr. titan romming around titania][

The only negative points are those random earthquakes courtesy of the Titan, and the fact that the Titan only goes for you in perticular.
