What is a rift in time? Well, I could tell you, but I'd have to kill you. What is DM-Timerift? It's an 8 to 10-player map by Desiato that will have you dizzy for the first few seconds until you become acclimated to your surroundings.

The first thing you notice when you spawn on this sucker is that the world ain't what it used to be. A panning backdrop gives you the feeling of falling through, uhhhÖ"time and space" on this chunk of land that used to be attached to something substantial, no doubt. Lighting breaks through the darkness and illuminates an open, 4-story structure, two blinking quantum fluctuating cosmo indicator adjustment simulator towers, and jump pads. A fallen light fixture holds the teetering Udamage, and the top level on the structure clutches the rocket launcher.

A custom texture package comes with the map, but most of the level is dressed out in default textures. I thought the texturing work was spiffy, not really any gaudy stuff to turn your stomach. Item placement was also planned out with the good stuff being harder to reach, but I wished that the health keg and the Udamage were a little farther apart.

The bots had some trouble, and it's unfortunate that they didn't do better because it spoiled the game. Since jump pads were the primary mode of transportation (ramps are there too), and since they only used them occasionally, you had almost 'no worries mate' about z-axis attacks from the tall structure.

The lighting was good. It helped in adding dimension to the map, as did the music and other sounds.

~End of Review~

For the author: When you only have one main structure on your map, and that structure is designed to be a big part of the map, the bots really need to all over that thing. Since most people play against the computer, the bots have to be top-notch. Play this thing in spectator mode for a very long time (if you haven't all ready) and you will see that the bots hardly ever make it to your 4-story building. If you get this fixed, the map will be a lot better and worth a lot more points.

disregarding the bot problem noted above wich I never really looked,I was wondering what people thought about this map.
I will post a 5 but if some have the time check this map out.
But it seemed like a cool level.

EDIT
Yes I just checked out the bots, they will goto the top and back to the jumppads and once in a while make it to the center floor but mostly the top floor. They are not as bad as the reviewer said at all.
Also wich is cool, when you respawn it pushes you up over to the edge wich is a great idea to counteract spawnkilling,I still like this map.
I used 4 bots on skilled, but this map could be a 1on1 or max of 6 players.Raising score to 6.
