Tubular, dOOd!

According to the readme this map was originally designed to be a domination map, and is the author's "Viper314 (Nathan Ellis)" first released map. Thankfully, Viper had kept his earlier trial maps on his HD and changed this map into the CTF map that it is.


Brightly lit and simple layout makes this level easy to play over lunch or a halftime break. Bots do a good job and there seems to be enough items not to be barren. The Flag Bases are eaily defended and the coorisponding sides of the map are seperated by a long hallway in which sniper bunkers are situated at the ends of. This makes for a sweet shooting arcade if your the defensively minded kind of player (ie. camper). Two routes exsist, each with there twists and identical architecture. Luckily, due to the small size, losing your bearings isn'y likely. Overall, a sweet little CTF map on the top of the mapping bell curve. I wish all "first releases" were this good.

Alright, I'll get the bad points of the map out of the way: the bots don't have the awareness that they should have.

That said, the lighting in this map is killer. I'm always hiding in some dark corner picking people off and running after the flag down that long corridor with 4 or 5 bots shooting at me. Try this map on instagib, it makes for a great time.

The layout is what makes this map above average for me, each corridor makes for a different strategy for capturing the flag, and each way back has it's own advantages and disadvantages. The sniper points are pretty good, but since I don't snipe much in instagib I left them out. But since it was an average map playing against bots I had to bring it down a few points, it would have been a five but for the 4 hours I spent playing it with a group of people with instagib.
