DM-Tezcatlipoca is designed for 8-12, has some good visuals, and allows you a variety of fighting styles.
The map has indoor and outdoor spots, with a waterfall conspicuously similar to the one in NyLeve. Underwater tunnels connect parts of the map, z-axis is happening, indoor water pools are present, and some becoming eye candy fills the map. You can wind around in cave-like hallways and come face to face with death, or spar in rooms of various sizes. This varied geometry allows you to change the way you attack.
Lots of vines grow from the walls and lots of moss sag from above. Many places look dingy, which contrasts well with the refreshing water pools. There's some wood, some nice trim, and some evil faces that cause you to feel as though you've encroached on a tomb.
The bots seem to do fine. They swim through the narrow water tunnels, snipe from above, and use the water, ledges, and open spaces to their advantage. I must take issue with the item placement: There are just not enough weapons for me. I was constantly running around looking for something to add to my arsenal. Many times I found myself using my pistol. Health vials are overdone, big-time! Perhaps this was to keep you alive while you found a good weapon.
The lighting was good, perhaps a little dark. I ended up brightening up my monitor, so you may need to as well. The map has some colored lighting, lots of torches, some with borked flames, and daylight seeping in from above; plus, sounds for a complete map.
