No, you're not looking at a black and white rerun of the I Love Lucy show. This is a surreal map done up in subtle shades of gray. Although I like this novel approach, the map has framerate problems, which also seems to be done intentionally by the author.
The place does look very interesting, in a nice way. It's a break from the same old thing. The map has a cathedral appearance, with mirrored floors, stain glass windows, and high ceilings. It designed for about a half dozen players, but the place is big enough for far more, and the framerates would get even worse if more were running around fragging.
The author, Hanh "Wanderer" Court, used textures from the SkyCity package, and a few others, with all the life squeezed out of them. Even the lens flares and torch flames were void of color. In fact, the only color that you'll see is from the items you pick up.
The bots did greatÖno problems that I could see. The item placement seemed to keep me away from the main arena in the center of the map. Lots of ammo was placed out away from the arena and I found myself gravitating there for vials, weapons, and ammo before I made a charge toward the center of the map for a fragoff. My goal, as I hit the arena, was to get the nuke that's resting on a platform.
The lighting was designed to go with the theme, and the author left out music, but included lots of sounds.
