Urban combat... well, more a skirmish in an abandoned industrial district, really. There's the usual sprayed-painted concrete walls, open warehouses left to the rats... and an alley. Things look ok, with broken wood planks, some homeless's beds, or the light-flickering freeze chamber with some Gibs pending from chains. One of the "warehouses" feel empty though, with so much space to move. There's some nice smoke effects. Lighting is dull and could use some work, but then again, in such a setting... The skybox could be a lot better, but it seems that it was not the author's work so it'll not affect score. Texturing and sounds are matching with the area depicted, giving it a "city-feeling".
Despite the simplicity, the author did try and made a working layout. You go up, you pick weapons and ammo, then either go down, or keep going on some catwalks. Even the alley (a dead-end with a Shockie), is "workable" from a gameplay point of view, as it is wide enough to dodge and walk around the burning barrel.
The items (nearly all the weapons) are placed around the map nicely, but maybe a little too much ammo near some weapons can hurt for a map this size. There's some of those tasty items we all want: Ko'H, ShieldBelt and AmpD. They all are in more or less hidden places, and i find a plus the author remembered to correctly pathnode BOTs to get the tricky one (and all around the map).
A no-frills map, it runned smooth, either speaking of engine FPS or gameplay.

| BladeDragonLord 10-16-2003 11:00 AM MDT | Rating: 6 | | This is a good UT map, simple, stylish too for a reasonably simple map! (Simple compared to the behemoths around these days, staticmeshes abounding!)
Nice use of 2 "secrets" makes you work a little to get at them, so you don't want a bot or human player on your tail when trying to get these!
Also nice trick... you'll have to find it yourself, hint look up and shoot! One Flat Enemy Coming Up!
If you want to say it has a poor sky box, then blame me, BladeDragonLord for that! (Erazer did the map, I did the sky box he only lives up the road from me!)
I like the flow of this map, although it doesn't force you into a circuit (or loop) it's still there though, you'll find that there are a few fire fights going on around the map, in the seperate but well connected rooms! Weapons spread is good and there's enough ammo (if there are too many Flak Cannon shells again blame me! Da Frag Monkey! *At my request*)
In the end you'll find that this map will leave you with a sense that if you go for pretty much any power up, you'll have to use a trick to get it, or you'll be horribly exposed while you do!
Erazer, had to give it a 7 sorta thought that was fair, better than a lot of maps, minus a point for my sky box, Oops! For his second ever map Erazer has done an amazing job!
Download it Dudes!
Cheers! BladeDragonLord! (Now I'll have upload one of mine so you can bag the crap out of it, LOL!)
