Hrm, another DM-Fractal style map, this one fitting up to six players. Can this one exceed the dime-a-dozen nature of these maps?
First and by far foremost on the agenda is the framerate. It sucks. Four hundred polys is average--and that lower screenshot has 860 of 'em. And this is a circle we're talking about here, for Pete's sake.
Not much to discuss in terms of flow or design when all you have to work with, so what else is there to convince one to stay? Well, the items are kindof interesting--no health on the map, but an enhanced shock rifle in the center. Some may like it, but I think most won't (I didn't). If there's a few playing though, it makes for interesting king-of-the-hill type gameplay: just gang up on whomever shoots the red stuff. Bots play fine, although they can sometimes get hung up on the teleports.
The aesthetics do provide a brief bright point. for being a circle, it's a pretty nice looking one, with an attractive skybox, little decayed touches on top, and odd faces up there as well. Texturing is tasteful, but I have serious issues with that nausea inducing red striped thing going on with the teleports (see upper pic). Ambient sounds are in place, but they'll be drowned out by the eurodance music that I can't really see fitting in with the map's temple-style theme.
Morbias and Fractal have become the Dead Simple of Unreal Tourney. Isn't eight(y) enough? |

| Halo14 | Rating: 9 | | I should think so Neko, it's at least worth an 8.5. I for one loved this map, it blows Morbias, Fractal, and all the other "dead simple" maps out of the water. The map is fast and frantic with a full load, the way i like it. The music may be EuroDance, but it was not that bad, c'mon! This was a bad review, I think it should be fixed immediatly.

| Varpu | Rating: 3 | | Does somebody have a machine where this map runs smoothly ? Mine puny 500MhZ@Software rendering worked like a slide-show. There is simply no justice for such high detail in geometry. As the details seem to be on the roof, they could have been substituted with pictures ove simpler geometry. I'd say the author has been lazy. I played this map two times, the first and the last time.
