This is a smallish arena level surrounded by cliffs. Whilst providing a very good game, it has a few problems, which spoil an otherwise excellent level.
The level is made up of a circular multi-level arena surrounded by high cliffs. There are sniper perches around the edge, which are accessible via teleporters. There is also a high walkway around the exterior of the arena. This can be reached by first teleporting to a sniper perch, and then using another teleporter to gain access to the walkway. There are windows from the walkway to the arena, although they don't come in to play as much as they were maybe intended to. Most of the fighting will take place out of the arena though, as the powerups are placed in the cliffs. There is however a redeemer in the centre, to lure players into a dangerous scenario. In the arena, there's a kind of 'trench'. The main problem with this is that it's very easy to become stuck in it. In my opinion, the level would have been better without it. Also, the step that the redeemer is placed on, you have to jump on to rather than step on to it. I'm sure that this isn't meant to be like this though, as it hinders combat. There's a similar error with the entrances to the arena. You get snagged on it and have to jump through. This time there's no step. Errors like these can seriously hinder gameplay, but can be corrected very easily.
Architecture is good for this genre of DM level, although it could have been improved in the centre arena. I also think that the level would have benefited if the walkway around the outside of the arena were instead on the inside, providing some z-axis combat. The bots play very well, and make full use of all weapons, powerups, and sniper perches. They can prove to be worthy opposition, even on the adept and skilled difficulty levels. I could only barely beat them on masterful. Lighting is good, but some of the areas are too dark.
Overall, this a good level if your into the arena genre of levels. For a fast paced game, try around six players. As this is a ][ version, I can't comment on changes from the first version as I haven't played it. But, if you enjoy this level, try the first version too.
