DM-Prometheus] takes the DM-Morbias][/DM-Fractal style theme, and expands it to ludicrous proportions. The author threw in a full 32 spawn points, although by then you're depending on luck more than anything else.
No, that's not a mod you're using, this map really is filled with only Rocket Launchers. Lots of them. And enough exploding ammo to make any Chinese New Year happy. The main problem is that rockets are slow, and the map is large; in the main arena with lots of people you end up just firing at random and hoping you hit something. Perhaps instagib would be a bit mroe appropriate.
The layout is admittedly more complex than the aforementioned cylinders, but not by much. You get a stack of two large central rings, with four identical circular rooms which have more ammo and their own powerup. upper floors have lots of holes to drop down from, and there are plenty of jump boots to go around. A damage amp is in the bottom of the central ring, but you won't see it long before it's picked up. (And with the amount rockets flying around, you won't see much of whoever picked it up either.) Texturing is done with a tasteful if bland dark metallic theme, and we are spared any garish colored lighting.
You'd think bots would have a problem getting to the Rocket Launchers before you pick them off, but that's not the case. They grab them and know how to use them; these buggers seem a good bit meaner than usual.
DM-Prometheus] really isn't too bad a map to be honest, it just doesn't suit me very well. Maybe I should just play some more and see if it will grown on me. I can definitely see its appeal, however, and I recommend giving it at least a try.
