As the name may suggest, DM-Pong is a very very small, very tight map that revolves around the premise of the ripper blades flying and richocheting around in the tiny enclosed space. For a DM map, or any map, this is probably a bad concept.
As for architecture there isn't much to see here, a rectangle with some seperators is all this map is. Lighting is colored, which is sometimes nice, but this is an overuse of it. Textures, what were you expecting in a map this size? The only way to acheive good texture variety would be to paste a different one on each wall...
While this map is more fun than many I have seen, its still not very fun. The "novelty" of using soley the ripper wears of rather quickly. Bots seemed perfectly stupid, standing in once place shooting the ripper madly... I could keep pointing out whats wrong in this map, but lets just leave it at you probably shouldn't download this one. But, at 24k, whats stopping you? |

| RKArteest 02-23-2004 09:47 PM MST | | I was the idiot that created DM-Pong...and I've even made two sequels. The second is much larger, while the third used more mirrors. I created the map not to show off my abilities as a map author...in fact, I rarely have the patience to put much detail into my maps...they're all rectangles glued together in different patterns, usually...anyway...I wanted reactions on DM-Pong, and the review satisfied me to the fullest. But, I would still like to see some user reviews, as well. Drop a line. I'm interested.
