| horned demon 01-23-2003 07:26 AM MST | Rating: 7 | | well this map is the first of it's kind i ever saw for UT. this map setting is in a WW2 broken down city. some houses are are half blowen apart so there are alot of good sniping spot(usally find a window and shoot your telalocater up there and your set)the layout and textures are exelent. but a couple thing hold this map back from being top notch. first off in the middel of the map where the tank is on the bridge you will notice some nasty hic up's with the fram rate, also if you have low gravity on you might want to turn telalocater on to, there has been cases where i get stuck in the barb wire surrounding the walls of the map. these flaw hurt the map but not to the point of it being not fun or cool to look at, D/L it. this is probleby the first of it's kind for UT
| Fuzzy Logic 01-23-2003 06:53 PM MST | Rating: 3 | | The visuals on this map are simply awesome. The detail is amazingly life-like. Never seen anything so realistic. A lot of work has gone into this map. Worth a 10+
However... It's all too easy to get snagged here and there. I got stuck behind a bunker and the only way out was a frag and respawn. Access along the side, and down the side of the bridge is restricted offering little flow. Weapons are few and ammo is virtually nil with a couple of health. All this makes gameplay worth a 0-
It looks as though this was designed to be a human v human commando type battle, and the map is fine for that purpose. Bots can't do that and end up running round like headless chickens - meat for the slaughter (if you have some ammo!).
Great visuals don't make a great map. The excitement of seeing this map for the first time quickly turned to disappointment once play commenced. Worth a look.

| gyokusai 01-24-2003 08:54 PM MST | Rating: 3 | | I agree with Fuzzy Logic too--but there's another thing I noticed: scale doesn't seem right. Players & weapons are way too big compared to everything else on the map, which completely counteracts realism and makes gameflow, esp. within the ruins, extremely cumbersome. You people sure this map's genuine and not just a conversion?
