Yet another excellent map by veteran mapper, Ebolt, DM-Nitro has all the appearance of being centered somewhere in another water-treatment plant annexed by Liandri for use in the Tournament. If you didn't know any better, you could even swear this one came with UT to begin with.
Textures are pretty straightforward for a cinder-block plant, but some creative useage of the water textures here, along with a few architectural flourishes lends a nice atmosphere that is readily believeable. Even I as a jaded map reviewer, had a few exclamations of pleased surprise at some of his constructs within. This one is very pleasing to look at. Useful lighting adds additional atmosphere. The sky is somewhat plain-looking, but who is gonna be watching the sky? *chuckle*
Flow and connectivity are both excellent, and you'll have little trouble getting around or finding a weapon.. Some of the playerstarts are a little far from the nearest weapon, so as you respawn, get used to the weapon placement so you know where to run in case of emergency. :-) Other than that, placement was excellent, and it's rare that you'll find yourself coming up short on anything. Snipers should also be able to have some fun with the z-axis play here, so don't forget to look up as well as around, while you try and stay alive here.
Bots know this map very very well, and had NO trouble finding me, or something to kill me with, so watch your step.. they can peg you from across the map with the ASMD Shock Rifle. =8)
The author also notes in his readme: "Plays excellent in 1-on-1 but you can crank it up to 7 bots. The bots actually use the secret and get to the shieldbelt and the armor by impactjumping, which I am pretty proud of :-)" Good job, Ebolt!
Secret? what secret? I didn't say nuttin'... ;-)
Grab your buddies, grab this map, and have yourself a blast. Get this thing up on servers, admins! I enjoyed the heck outta this puppy, and you should too.

| Deathwing | Rating: 8 | | Awesome map, tons of fun, OWNS! (and earned it)
| Sighter | Rating: 8 | | Smaller than I thought but the bots are deadly and with my 56k modem this is a good thing, perhaps lacking in eye-candy but otherwise one kick-ass map... Get it now (go on its only small)

The water is incorporated very well and adds a very nice touch. The bots are killer, and the layout is fresh and well designed. The map flows well and the action is fairly evenly spread out. Every distance seems to have been calculated so that you can’t reach every item from the highest floor. That is, the distance is barely long enough so that you can’t jump from the highest floor to the middle floor; you actually have to go up the appropriate ramps to get the goodies you want. Although the z-axis is limited and there are some minor hang-ups in the flow, the map is awesome overall.

| IronMan 02-08-2003 07:37 PM MST | Rating: 9 | | Ebolt really was spot-on with this one. Lots of game styles work here and the flow is very good along with the eye-candy.
