AWE: 1.5 The texturing here could be better, a lot of the same or similar gray brick textures. Thankfully the author, Ice Falcon, included some orangish lighting in areas that browned the brick, instead of seeing gray monotony. Even so, much of the ceilings and floors are rather gray, but the whole map isn't this way. There are plenty of vents, beams, and other flooring that provide other representatives of the rainbow.
Lighting isn't too bad, some of the coronas are too big, especially in the side rooms where the lights are uncolored. The lights also light up the rooms a little too much I think, all but a couple light sources are horizontal, facing up or down, and still manage to light the rooms up too well. In the Ued I see Ice Falcon added a couple light actors in some places for extra light with no light sources, which isn't a real big deal. It just could've been worked more for better effect.
Architecture is not among the best, but not the worst either. Plenty of angles in walls, not everything is flat, although some still is. Something more could be built to add more pizazz, but I'm not the best at figuring out what could be added, I just know something could.
BUILD: 2 I'll start with the bad here, and that is no zoning. I noticed on my machine it slowed a little, not much, but I normally don't notice that with any maps. I think zoning off sections would have helped. Aside from that, there are great ambient sounds to add life to the map. Elevators and teleporters are used to get to areas otherwise un-accessable, except for translocating. Which even then leads you to another ledge for you to jump from.
CAST: 1.5 Gameplay suffers some from the flow. Lots of z-axis opportunities, which needs elevators, teleporters, and some off route ramps to get to work. I think some of the ledges were difficult to get on to, some have an elevator, others you need to find a teleporter somewhere else in the map. A couple had the elevators in an awkward, or obscure position.
Item placement needs work, some health and weapons were between some beams which dead-ended, and made it somewhat undesirable to get. The health-keg, Redeemer, and the U-damage are placed well, but the invisibilty is in the open. Bots got through the map well, but one room is really out of the way, and I saw no bots in the room.
SCORE: 5 Watch out for the liquid that looks like water, it's really slime, and you tend to lose health in it. ;-) Not a bad map really, but certainly not the best. It's not a complete waste of time to download if you are looking for a new map. |

And you do some steps outside this room and look! Amp! Amp is close to invisibility. something about 3-4 steps. Yeah, i know, you must have boots or translocator, or use impact jump, but inv. and amp, are too dangoures items, and you use them too close. Pick all 4 items and tradaaaaa! You are predator with deadly arsenal. Sorry only 8 for you.
