Another conversion of a classic Unreal map. I don't really know why Epic didn't convert this for the Bonus pack, but going what they did to Healpod and Cybrosis I'm quite glad they didn't. The real problem with this particular conversion, though, is that 'Scott Dempsey' gives no credit to Epic or CliffyB. So what do I do here? Score the map on it's good points or give it a 0? The layout is good, with many different routes through which to lead a pursuer. It makes for good hunting matches with just a few players. There is a slight resemblence of a room, corridor, room, corridor layout, but it's no big problem. The architecture is nothing special but avoids high poly counts and stops players getting stuck on scenery. A few textures have been changed to make it look slightly more like DM-Mojo][ from the bonus pack, which don't detract from the appearance, and generally the textures are well-chosen and aligned. One thing the converter has done is fixed a bug that was present in the original, which was to add a torch where there was previously only a corona. Loxi][ is well-lit, although the torches don't have a very realistic effect. One would expect a warmer, brighter light with a smaller radius, especially considering the brightness of the lensflare. Glows near lava and moonlight where the sky is visible are good touches. Unfortunately it seems that a skilled impact-jumper or someone who grabs the jumpboots can gather all the quality items on this level. You can walk across a thin girder to the shieldbelt, jump up to the superhealth, then the rocket launcher, and then should you need any more you can jump to the damage amp and an excellent camping spot. Health and ammo is rarely short and as soon as you respawn you should have a decent weapon in your hands. The level has a screenshot, author (Scott Dempsey my arse) and a player count, but it also reminded me how crap the UT menu music is whenever I pressed escape.

| CARADOC | Rating: 8.5 | | I loved this map in the original UNREAL. I like this version also. It is a great one for playing online.
| CromlecH 03-15-2004 05:15 AM MST | Rating: 4 | | Quite a high score for a map that the bots just stand there and rub their dicks :D
Nice looks tho.

| Sicko Teddy 03-15-2004 09:18 PM MST | Rating: 7 | | up there (.."too standard"..) SO WHA! It realy show classical UT Feeling as DM- Codex or DM-Course. Sometimes people want to see a new map but to save the same , familiar atmospheare. nice. the minus part is that Bots don't do a crap. Could you take few more minutes and put some "apples" here and there.
